Mark April 21, 2012 for Model Number ACO1840AB Re: Amana Radarange overstove microwave. I have determined that I need to replace at least one door switch. There is an awful lot of plastic holding those switches in and I can't see how to remove the switches without damaging the plastic that holds them in place ? Please advise. Thank you,
1 Answer Hi Mark. Remove the top/front upper vent grill. Above the control panel is a metal grill plate that needs to be removed. This gives access to removing the control panel upper screw. Lift up and out on the control panel. You will only have a very little area to pull out on the control because of a green ground screw holding it. Once this screw is removed, then note all connections on the control board for proper re-installation. Set this aside. Open the door. There are 2-screws that hold the switch bracket assy. part # 53001363 to the side of the cabinet. Remove these screws and In stall the switches part # 4392027 as needed. Thank You. Read More...
Aj February 27, 2012 for Model Number whirlpool/ GH7155XHS1 My microwave stays on with the humming noise and heats every time I close the door and will not stop heating. The only way to get it to stop is to leave the microwave door open. What part(s) do I need to purchase to repair this issue. Thanks, AJ.
1 Answer Hello AJ. It sounds like the door switches 4392027 are bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Test the switches to see which one is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Gerald G. November 16, 2011 for Model Number MH6150XLQ-0 When the door is opened the light does not go on and when the food is done the timer does not cancel. Also if you open the door open quickly the microwave continues to operate. Please advise which part is defective. Thank you

Carl November 04, 2011 for Model Number MH7130XEZ0 Microwave works ok - but light and blower stay on.
1 Answer Hi Carl. Behind the control panel and in front of the capacitor is a thermal fuse which may be shorted and telling the board an overheated condition existed, and the fan needs to run to cool down the unit. They use this to obviously alert the customer of an issue. Thermostat part # 4158368. Carefully unhook one wire and the condition should stop. Be extremely care full as high voltage is stored in the capacitor and you don't want to come in contact with the terminals. Thank you. Read More...
Rudy November 01, 2011 for Model Number MVH240W I have an Amana Microwave and the under hood light do not turn on I replaced the light bulbs and they still do not turn on. What could be wrong?
1 Answer Hello Rudy. If the bulb and the socket are good, it sounds like the control board R9800350 is bad on the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Bruce August 15, 2011 for Model Number MH7115XBQ-5 I think our microwave door switch is bad. The control panel timer will count down the time but the magnetron motor does not hum nor does the microwave heat. The door latch spring seems to have good tension (when I push the latch handles upward). When I pull slightly on the door handle or open the door and press start- the microwave usually starts to work correctly. Do I probably need a door interlock switch kit? Your schematic shows 3 sets of them. I guess I have to test for the bad one(s) using a resistance meter. Does this sound like the probable problem? Thanks- Bruce
1 Answer Hello Bruce. It sounds like you are on the right track. You will need to test the door switch 4392027 and see if one is bad. If so, you will need to replace the door switch that is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Mark March 15, 2011 for Model Number mh6140xkb1 I have a whirlpool MH6140xkb1 mircowave and the top door switch went bad. It says that this switch will work but my switch says the following 16A-1/2 HP-125. Also, it only has one prong on the front this one has two. The original switch was made by yamatake (model v-5230q). Both the top and botom prongs have two wires going to them. One of each appears to be a ground.
1 Answer Hello Mark. On your old switch you will see COM by one of the terminals, and either NC or NO by the other one. Connect the wires from you old switch to the correct terminals on the new switch, according to these markings. Hope this helps. Read More...
