For Whirlpool Dryer Drum Support Roller (Part Number: OEM12025611)

Chris, The squeaking noise would most likely be caused by either bad drum rollers or a bad idler pulley. You will want to check both of the shafts of each of the rollers to make sure that there is no damage to them and most likely they will need to be replaced.

Hello Bill, To address the first two issues at the same time, if the seal WP33001807 is worn, the clothes will get caught where the seal shouold be taking up the slack. This is where the black marks are coming from. The clunking is most likely a failed drum roller 12001541. A bad drum roller will also contribute to the gap where the drum seal is located and cause the unit to catch clothes more often.

Jerry, There will be a little play in the roller assembly but it should not be much. If there is a lot of play then replace the roller assembly.

Dave W. for Model Number GEW9250PW1

Just ordered 4 drum support rollers, idler pulley, and belt. Every video or text I've viewed for the repair refers to bearings on the drum roller and the importance of not greasing the roller or the shaft (Dirt and lint magnet). The drum rollers I received have steel bushings and every picture I have seen of the part # looks identical. How can this be right? No sealed bearing? Steel roller bushing on a steel shaft with no grease? Thank you in advance for your help

Hello Dave, This is right because the material used in the drum roller is impregnated with a dry lubricant. This allows for dry lubrication as it wears. If you lubricate the drum rollers with anything it has to be baby powder or corn starch. Lint will stick to a wet lubricant and the rotation of the drum roller will pull the lint into the bushing and will wear out the drum roller faster than it will wear out if put together dry.

David, The wheel bearing grease is too thick. You could use a 3 n 1 oil on the shafts.
