Armando December 08, 2014 for Model Number MDG9700AWWW I bought a used dryer, the guy who sold it to me said all it needed was the pulley assembly part fixed so I ordered and installed it myself right away when i opened the top part of the dryer I noticed that the pads around the drum closest to the front have melted, can I replace the pads? or I need to buy a new drum?

Amature Repairman December 16, 2013 for Model Number MDG9700AWW My Whirpool Neptune dryer has developed a hole and makes a thumping sound when I use it. I had a repairman come out because it stopped working and he discovered that clothes had gotten through the hole and got caught up in the belt but everything else (belt and rollers) seems to be all in good condition. He recommended that I have the drum replace to keep this from happening again but wanted to charge me over $500.00 to replace it so I thought I could purchase an new drum and replace it myself for half the cost (the cost of the part and my time). He showed me what I need to do to replace the drum so I just need the correct part number for the drum to order it. He also recommended that I replace the felt seal as the hole has damaged the seal a bit on the back side of the drum so will need to order a new seal as well. Can you tell me what the part numbers are for the drum and seal?

I am afraid it has probably worn out the rollers as well so while I have it out I will replace the rollers, belt, and pulley. Does the new drum come with a felt seal or will I need to order that also?
