The Oven Bake Element is an OEM part for Whirlpool ovens. It is a component responsible for providing the heat necessary for baking and cooking. This element is located at the bottom of the oven and heats up when electricity is applied, allowing for consistent cooking temperatures.

Symptoms of a bad Oven Bake Element include:

  • Uneven baking results or undercooked food
  • Lack of heat generation even though the oven is turned on
  • Visible damage to the element such as blistering, cracks, or breaks

Causes of a bad element can stem from natural wear and tear, excessive cooking temperatures overextending the element's capacity, or electrical issues causing the element to fail prematurely.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

JM, Bake and Broil elements work, or don't work. If there is no visible damage to the element, you'll need to start looking for a loose connection in the wiring from the ERC / Clock WP6610457 to the element and at the terminal block where the power cord or electric supply attaches to the range. If there are no loose connections or wiring issues, then suspect the ERC/Clock, there may be a problem in the bake or DLB relay(s) on the control and it is not supplying 240 VAC to the bake element.

Hello Alan, Since you cannot read the model number, you will most likely have to remove the bake element and carry it to a local parts store and match the element up both for the wattage listed on the part itself and with the size and configuration. I'm sorry but we cannot look up a part without a model number.
