Jasmyne October 20, 2015 for Model Number GC5SHEXNS04 I bought a 2-pk of water filters (Filter 3 #4396841/#W10193691) a while ago so I would be ready when it was time to change them. I went to pull mine out and see it is actually #4396710. I've already broken the seal/opened the packaging and was wondering if I can just use these anyway so they don't go to waste and get the correct ones next time? They appear to be the same size and shape. Fingers crossed. Thanks

Karina October 14, 2015 for Model Number Whirlpool Fride WRS950SIAE00 I am replacing my Pur water filter. When I removed the old one some water came out and now the new filter will not insert. There is no leaking. We've only had the fridge one year. This is our second filter. What do I need to do?
1 Answer Karina, If the unit will not get water through the filter and the filter is all the way in then the issue will be in the filter head. Read More...

Steve September 24, 2015 for Model Number 106.51133210 Hi. I have a newer Kenmore refrigerator, model # 106.51133210. The light for a replacement filter has come on-- for 2 weeks now-- and it's somewhat ambiguous about which filter I need. According to the Sears Direct site, there are two filters. One costs less, and the second costs more. The more costly model is-- PN--EDR1RXD1, With a substitution of Part #: W10569760 The less costly part is PN- Part #: W10394044 with a substitution of 9930. What can you tell me about your filters? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Steve, EDR1RXD1 is the only filter we offer for your model number. The 9930 has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Read More...
Bubba September 06, 2015 for Model Number WRF560SEY Installed a PUR model # EDR1RXD1 water/ice filter in our unit. When the ice maker is activated or the water dispenser is activated the filter pops out of the filter assembly. What is going on ???? Even the old filter will now pop out !!!!!!!!
1 Answer Bubba, The problem is the locking mechanism inside the filter housing assembly W10844267 has been damaged, and will need to be replaced. When water is called for, the pressure of the water entering the filter causes the filter to dislodge from the mechanism. Read More...
Lena September 02, 2015 for Model Number GS5SHAXNL00 When taking my filter out to change, water came pouring out from filter area. I had to turn off water supply to fridge. When I put new filter in and turned water back on, water was still coming out. I'm not sure water filter is in all the way, but I couldn't get it to turn a full quarter turn. I also pushed it in as far as it would go before turning. Not sure what else to do at this point.
1 Answer Hello Lena. Based on the information you provided, you will need to order and replace the filter housing WP2186443 on the unit. Read More...
Joe August 31, 2015 My refrigerator is 2 years old a whirlpool with an ice maker and cold water dispenser. I changed the filter as I have done in the past and the flow rate is so slow that it will only make very small ice cubes and it takes forever to get a glass of water. I use the same pur filter that I always use. What should I do?
1 Answer Hello Joe. If the filter is new, you will need to order and replace the filter head on the unit. Read More...
Elis C. August 29, 2015 I need to replace filter 3 i4396841, how does it need to be inserted? I have pulled it out and have done this before but now I don't know which side is up or which way does it go in? Thanks, Elis
1 Answer Elis, First you need to turn the water to the refrigerator off, remove the filter cap ( turn it 90 dgrs. to the left, Press the filter release button on the left side of the opening to eject the filter. Remove the red cover(s) off the small tubes at the end of the filter. Insert the filter into the housing until it locks in place. Reinstall the filter cap, and open the water faucet and dispense water from the dispenser until the air has been displaced and the water is clear(2or3 gallons is usually enough). There is also a video attached to the EDR3RXD1 water filter parts diagram, that may be even more helpful. Read More...
Gary August 22, 2015 for Model Number ED5PHEXRTOO I have been changing the filter on the refrigerator for a number of years I haven't had any problems until now. For some reason the water inputs at the end of the filter do not line up. It's like the back of the housing where the water comes in has turned.
1 Answer Gary, With this filter housing it would not be possible for it to turn and not accept the filter. If it is not allowing the filter to go in then you will need a new filter housing part number WPW10121138. Read More...
