David January 03, 2013 for Model Number GD5SHAXNB00 Water is not making to my ice maker. Water is dispensing in the door dispenser. The water pressure is good. The ice sensors are good (solid red beam). I just replaced the water inlet valve, however, I'm still having the same problem. I would like to verify that the water tube isn't frozen. However, my water tube doesn't have the black piece at the top like in the parts description. The water tube goes right into the back of the freezer at the top. There is only a square of the self adhesive sticky around the water tube. How can I verify before ordering part 2256096? Thanks
1 Answer Hello David. Just remove the water line from the water valve and blow though it. If you can blow through it, it is clear. if not, it is frozen. Read More...
Tim August 19, 2012 for Model Number ED5THAXMS10 The black connector to the Icemaker fill line that comes out of the top of my freezer burst. Could there be something else wrong or do I just need to replace the fill line? And do I need to remove the Icemaker to do this? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Tim, You will have to pull the ice maker and install a new WP2256096. This is the only way to correct this issue. I would also Set the freezer temperature a number warmer. Read More...
Annesh July 24, 2012 for Model Number KSCS25INSS00 i do not know how to remove the damaged water tube pipe from the water valve ask (2315533) it seems to have a lock tight fitting which is very hard to remove. I tried twisting but does not seem to open, please explain in details how to detach this pipe from the unit. I can send you the picture if you can email me your email address.
1 Answer Annesh, W10247725 is the replacement fill valve. If you present valve is similar, you have "john guess" fittings. They work like any other "compression" fitting. You will need to press in on the "collar".(the ring surrounding the tube) and pull out on the tube, to disconnect the tube from the valve outlet. Reverse the procedure to install the tube in the valve outlet. As for removing the fill tube, once you have all the fittings and holders loose and away from the tube. you will need to extract it from the freezer compartment ceiling. You may want to tie or tape a stong piece of string to it, so you can "snake" the new tube through the cabinet. Thanks Read More...

Louise March 17, 2012 for Model Number GS6NBEXRB00 Do you have instructions on how to replce this part?
1 Answer Hello Louise. These are not hard to change at all. Just remove the end of the tube from the water inlet valve and pull out from the freezer end, (black end first). Then feed the new water line into the opening above the ice maker, and route back down to the water inlet valve and attach as the old one had been. Hope this helped you and have a great day! Mike July 21, 2011 for Model Number 10655603400 Planning to order Part Number: AP3182503 and Part Number: AP3182733 I noticed that there is a white putty/adheasive where the black nozzle meets the square cut out inside the freezer wall above the ice maker fill cup. Is this putty/adheasive needed for a new installation. Also I need to replace my ice maker because the unit filler cup and the filler nozzle freezes up and over flows. I believe this caused the filler tube to crack causing a leak behind the top of the refrigerator where the filler tube comes out of. The installation seems straight forward. Removed the ice maker once already to defrost it. It filled with water but the ice ejector arm was frozen inside the ice cubes and the filler cup and nozzle froze again. Is there anything else I need or should know before I place my order. Thanks!
1 Answer Mike, Your replacement of the ice maker, is probably unnecessary, A frozen fill tube is usually due to a faulty fill valve W10408179, Yes, due to the routing of the water inlet tube to the ice maker, I would reccomend you use the existing Putty as a seal, to keep heated room air from infiltrating into the freezer compartment and causing a frost or freezing problem. You are correct, it is a pretty straight forward repair as far as the fill tube. Thanks and Good Luck. Read More...
Sheree May 05, 2011 for Model Number 106.50599003 Can I easily separate the two parts of this fitting? The black tube that protudes into the freezer burst, and that is all that needs replacing. Or will I need a service call to fix the problem? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Sheree. These are not to hard to change. Just remove the hose from the connector at the valve and pull the fill tube out through the freezer. Then feed the new water line through the opening, down to the water valve and reattach. Hope this helps. Read More...
