Part Number: OEM18025710
Manufacturer Part Number: WP3406653

This sensor harness connects the dryer's moisture sensor bars to the main wiring, helping the control or timer read moisture levels so Auto Dry cycles can advance and deliver consistent, reliable drying performance.

  • Provides the electrical path between the moisture sensor bars and the control/timer
  • Enables the dryer to sense wet fabrics and adjust or advance Auto Dry cycles
  • A damaged or open harness can cause Auto Dry to not advance, run too long, or stop early
  • Contribute to inconsistent dry times or a "Sensing" indicator that behaves abnormally
What's included: One sensor wire harness Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing
  • Access the sensor bars at the front bulkhead; note wire routing and clip locations
  • Transfer routing/clips from the old harness; connect to both sensor bars and the main harness plug, ensuring snug terminals and clear wire paths
  • Restore power and run an Auto Dry test; inspect/clean the sensor bars and check harness continuity

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Sensor Harness (Dryer Moisture Sensor) (Part Number: OEM18025710)

Jack, It does sound like the issue would be in the sensor. What you will want to do first is to try to clean the sensor bars with rubbing alcohol to get any fabric softner residue off of them. Once this is done then run a load and see if it continues to do the same thing. If so then you will want to check the harness to make sure that there is not an issue with the wiring. To check this you can pull the main top off and the lower access panel. Look up from the bottom to see if you can see any type of damage at the connection for the sensor bars or to the wiring and then check at the main board for the same.

Hello Buddy. Exhaust Thermistor Open. The machine control electronics monitors the exhaust temperature using the exhaust thermistor, and cycles the heater relay on and off to maintain the desired temperature. Begin with an empty dryer and a clean lint screen. 1. Plug in dryer or reconnect power. 2. Start the Timed Dry cycle. 3. If after 60 seconds, F-22 or F-23 flashes in the display and the dryer shuts off, the thermistor or wire harness is either open or shorted. ? Unplug dryer or disconnect power. ? Check wire connections at the machine control electronics and thermistor. See Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies on page 13, and for thermistor location see figure 10. ? If wire connections are OK, check the exhaust thermistor resistance per step 5. 4. If F-22 or F-23 does not flash in the display, the connections to the thermistor are good. Therefore, check the exhaust temperature value at any or all of the temperature levels in question, using the Timed Dry cycle, and the following process: Hold a glass bulb thermometer capable of reading from 32° to 82°C (90° to 180°F) in the center of the exhaust outlet. * The measured overshoot using the glass bulb thermometer in the exhaust outlet can be 17°C (30°F) higher. 5. If the exhaust temperature is not within specified limits, or you have come here from step 3, remove the P14 connector, then measure the resistance between P14-3 (red-white wire) and P14-6 (red-white wire) at the connector. See figure 16, page 14 for connector location; and Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies, page 13. ? If the resistance is OK, check P14-3 and P14-6 to machine ground. ? If resistance is greater than 0 (zero), replace wiring harness. NOTE: All thermistor resistance measurements must be made while dryer is unplugged or disconnected from power.

Andy, The moisture control system doesn't affect the start or program of the dryer. It senses the moisture in the clothes, in the drum and informs the control to advance to the end of cycle cool down and shut off. If the dryer is "dead" and can't be programmed then you want to check and reset the breakers in the panel box a few times and make sure you have 220 VAC at the terminal block on the back of the dryer. If the dryer display is illuminated, but the dryer won't start you'll need to check the thermal fuse, belt switch and 120 VAC at the machine control board. If the dryer is in a temperature controlled environment, then moisture inside the drum is due to an exhaust vent issue. You may want to disconnect the dryer exhaust vent from the dryer for a few days to verify the issue. You may also want to remove the lower front access panel and retrieve the tech data information sheet in order to test the control assembly and circuit test the other components of the dryer.

Frank, You want to start at the thermal fuse WP3392519 The fuse allows 120 VAC to the motor from the control board. If the fuse is open, the motor won't start or run. The thermistor controls the heat / temperature once the dryer is running. Also check and ensure the venting and hood are not clogged or restricted and the lint filter is cleaned before each load.

Dan, It should not matter which wire that you connect to the sensor. They will work either way.

Hello Tanya. If you look closely, you will see small tabs locking the two pieces together. You will insert a flat screwdriver under the plastic lip and pry the lip up so the tabs will slide under it and unplug.

Kevin C. for Model Number 110.92826102 Sear Dryer HE3

I disconnected a wire/washer combo that went through a screw that held the white lint filter screen in place. I forgot to put that wire/washer back ( I believe I lost it or dropped it). Now the dryer will not work on timed dry mode. It starts and then shuts itself off in a matter of minutes. I looking for the right part number to replace the lost wire/washer. Sears part store tells me I need part # 3406653, but I look at pictures of it and it does not even have a wire with a washer at the end of it which is all I lost. Please help. I thought about just going to HD or Lowes and looking for a simple wire with a washer at the end of it and reconnecting it.

Hello Kevin, Based on the information the part you are looking for would appear to be part of the wiring harness and cannot be gotten as a separate part.
