Kathy December 13, 2013 for Model Number WED9200SQ0 Whirlpool Electric Dryer Dryer will turn on but it will not start drying the clothes nor run. It stays in the "sensing" Mode. I assume it is not detecting clothes in the dryer. What do I need to purchase to fix this problem? (serial number MV2652048)
1 Answer Hello KATHY. Check and see if the thermal fuse WP3392519, door switch WPW10318609, or belt is broke or bad and needs to be replaced on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jack A November 03, 2013 for Model Number MEDE200XW0 My dryer works fine when you put it on manual time setting. When we use the automatic settings it will not shut off when time is up and resets to original time and continues to run. I'm thinking its a sensor. Parts list have both a Harness, Sensor and a Harness Moisture Sensor. Is this something that is easy to replace or do I need a pro.
1 Answer Jack, It does sound like the issue would be in the sensor. What you will want to do first is to try to clean the sensor bars with rubbing alcohol to get any fabric softner residue off of them. Once this is done then run a load and see if it continues to do the same thing. If so then you will want to check the harness to make sure that there is not an issue with the wiring. To check this you can pull the main top off and the lower access panel. Look up from the bottom to see if you can see any type of damage at the connection for the sensor bars or to the wiring and then check at the main board for the same. Read More...
Bruce October 22, 2013 for Model Number Med9700sq0 Dryer won't start, no error codes, appears to work on the control panel but no heat or spin. Checked thermistor and 2 heat fuses and door switch and power voltage at the block and replaced the motor - still won't start. Any ideas besides the main board?
1 Answer Hello Bruce, You need to check the thermal fuse and the door switch on the unit and make sure they are not bad on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. 1 Answer Hello Buddy. Exhaust Thermistor Open. The machine control electronics monitors the exhaust temperature using the exhaust thermistor, and cycles the heater relay on and off to maintain the desired temperature. Begin with an empty dryer and a clean lint screen. 1. Plug in dryer or reconnect power. 2. Start the Timed Dry cycle. 3. If after 60 seconds, F-22 or F-23 flashes in the display and the dryer shuts off, the thermistor or wire harness is either open or shorted. ? Unplug dryer or disconnect power. ? Check wire connections at the machine control electronics and thermistor. See Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies on page 13, and for thermistor location see figure 10. ? If wire connections are OK, check the exhaust thermistor resistance per step 5. 4. If F-22 or F-23 does not flash in the display, the connections to the thermistor are good. Therefore, check the exhaust temperature value at any or all of the temperature levels in question, using the Timed Dry cycle, and the following process: Hold a glass bulb thermometer capable of reading from 32° to 82°C (90° to 180°F) in the center of the exhaust outlet. * The measured overshoot using the glass bulb thermometer in the exhaust outlet can be 17°C (30°F) higher. 5. If the exhaust temperature is not within specified limits, or you have come here from step 3, remove the P14 connector, then measure the resistance between P14-3 (red-white wire) and P14-6 (red-white wire) at the connector. See figure 16, page 14 for connector location; and Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies, page 13. ? If the resistance is OK, check P14-3 and P14-6 to machine ground. ? If resistance is greater than 0 (zero), replace wiring harness. NOTE: All thermistor resistance measurements must be made while dryer is unplugged or disconnected from power. Read More...
1 Answer Hello sharonda. Either a bad fuse or door switch in the unit will cause the issue. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Andy July 08, 2013 for Model Number med9800tq0 My front load dryer will not come on. When the humidity is realy high it fill with moisture. Nothing works. is the moisture control bad?
1 Answer Andy, The moisture control system doesn't affect the start or program of the dryer. It senses the moisture in the clothes, in the drum and informs the control to advance to the end of cycle cool down and shut off. If the dryer is "dead" and can't be programmed then you want to check and reset the breakers in the panel box a few times and make sure you have 220 VAC at the terminal block on the back of the dryer. If the dryer display is illuminated, but the dryer won't start you'll need to check the thermal fuse, belt switch and 120 VAC at the machine control board. If the dryer is in a temperature controlled environment, then moisture inside the drum is due to an exhaust vent issue. You may want to disconnect the dryer exhaust vent from the dryer for a few days to verify the issue. You may also want to remove the lower front access panel and retrieve the tech data information sheet in order to test the control assembly and circuit test the other components of the dryer. Frank July 07, 2013 for Model Number GEW9200LWI Electric Dryer will power up, but when you hit the start button had a click but no heat or rotation of the drum. I receive no error codes during the diagnostics. Is this the thermal fuse or thermistor?
1 Answer Frank, You want to start at the thermal fuse WP3392519 The fuse allows 120 VAC to the motor from the control board. If the fuse is open, the motor won't start or run. The thermistor controls the heat / temperature once the dryer is running. Also check and ensure the venting and hood are not clogged or restricted and the lint filter is cleaned before each load. Dan June 30, 2013 for Model Number YMED9700SQ I disconnected the sensor wiring harness from the outlet screen grille to clean it out. I can’t remember if the black wire connects to the top lead or the bottom lead. Does it matter what leads the black wire and the yellow (with red strip) wires go to? Thank you, Dan
1 Answer Dan, It should not matter which wire that you connect to the sensor. They will work either way. Read More...
Tanya April 24, 2013 for Model Number 110.82822102 I want to know how to do is to disconnect the wire harness? The 2 plastic parts. How do I disconnect? I have watched the videos. I can take the machine aprt and put together, but I can't release these things. PLEASE help me!
1 Answer Hello Tanya. If you look closely, you will see small tabs locking the two pieces together. You will insert a flat screwdriver under the plastic lip and pry the lip up so the tabs will slide under it and unplug. Read More...
Kevin C. February 23, 2013 for Model Number 110.92826102 Sear Dryer HE3 I disconnected a wire/washer combo that went through a screw that held the white lint filter screen in place. I forgot to put that wire/washer back ( I believe I lost it or dropped it). Now the dryer will not work on timed dry mode. It starts and then shuts itself off in a matter of minutes. I looking for the right part number to replace the lost wire/washer. Sears part store tells me I need part # 3406653, but I look at pictures of it and it does not even have a wire with a washer at the end of it which is all I lost. Please help. I thought about just going to HD or Lowes and looking for a simple wire with a washer at the end of it and reconnecting it.
1 Answer Hello Kevin, Based on the information the part you are looking for would appear to be part of the wiring harness and cannot be gotten as a separate part. Read More...
