Tim M December 16, 2014 for Model Number GGW900LW1 My dryer wont run. Here are the symptoms: I can turn the unit on (control on) and select a drying setting (automatic or manual cycles. The appropriate estimated time display changes normally. When I press HOLD TO START button, the unit clicks and the "sensing"status light stays on, but the drum doesnt turn nor does heating begin. In Test mode: all lights function, etc. When I open the door - there is a single beep and code 39 comes up on the display. I have replaced: the two moisture sensing bars, the moisture sensing harness, thermistor and thermal fuse. I still have the same symptoms and the same response in test mode. What is my next step? Tim
1 Answer Hello Tim. There is a few things to check here. Check the broke belt switch and the door switch. If both are good, then either the main board or the motor is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Mellie December 03, 2014 for Model Number WED9200SQO My dryer has power.I turn power on then press the start button and there is a quick click sound but it does not come on.What causes this?
1 Answer Mellie, You will want to check the thermal fuse on the blower housing for continuity. If there is continuity then test the door switch for continuity with the door closed. If there is no continuity then replace the door switch, if there is continuity and there is continuity on the thermal fuse then the motor will most likely be the cause for the issue. Read More...
Laura September 30, 2014 for Model Number 11082832100 My dryer stops running a few minutes after I start it. I can keep changing temperature settings and sometimes it keeps running and sometimes it does not. Sears told me the wiring harness is no longer available as this is a 2002 model. Is your sensor wiring the same thing? The thermistor is still available. Thank you Laura
1 Answer Laura, If you need the wiring for the thermistor then the sensor wiring harness WP3406653 would not be the correct part. This harness is for the moisture sensor. The thermistor part number is WP8577274. If you are needing the main harness it is no longer available. Read More...
Ron September 13, 2014 for Model Number WGD6400SWO Powers up, won't start, all light are on the control panel. Diagnostic test flashes F-28 (Moisture Sensor), I replaced the moisture sensor, thermistor and that did not work. Also I did replace the thermal fuse and igniter. I checked the OHMs for the thermal cut-offs and they had continuity. I think I am looking at replacing the harness/connections and the machine control electronics. What do you say? Ron
1 Answer Ron, With the unit not starting you will want to test the thermal fuse on the blower housing for continuity and test the door switch. These would be the most likely causes of failure. Read More...
Lorraine July 26, 2014 for Model Number MED9700SQ0 The automatic dry side does not work at all. the timed dry does work. that is problem one.. what part(s) do I need? Secondly, the noise eminating from the dryer sends us out of the house. I am going to assume it is the pulley wheel, idler? and as long as I am there replace the belt. do I have to take the drum out of the front as on the video or can I change the belt while the back is off and can see the pulley wheel and where things are to go? I am not tall and arms won't reach blindly as this is my first attempt
1 Answer Hello Lorraine, The belt will have to be changed from the front of the unit. If you could re-post with an e-mail address, I can send you some illustrated instructions and troubleshooting instructions. Also, if the unit does not work on the automatic cycles but does on the timed dry cycles, the issue is going to be a clogged or crimped exhaust duct in the home. To prove this, disconnect the duct from the rear of the dryer and turn the unit on an automatic cycle. In 10 minutes you will see that the timer has advanced. Read More...

Ken Chan June 09, 2014 for Model Number ygew9250pw0 the light of the dryer flashed and burnt out when my wife opened the door, after that I tried to turn on the machine but it did not respond with the lights of the control panel looked normal. What will be the problem? What parts do I need to replace besides the 10w light bulb?

Drew May 03, 2014 Where does the end connectors go for part number 3406653 on a Kenmore HE3 dryer? Would someone provide a picture please? Thanks so much!
1 Answer Drew. The 2 loose wires will connect to the sensor bars that are on the filter housing. The bars can be seen on the inside front of the drum where the air would flow through. Read More...
Barbara March 20, 2014 for Model Number GEW9260PWO My Whirlpool duet dryer is heating too hot and is even burning hands when removing clothes. Blew the thermostat. I replaced the Thermostat and cleaned duct but is still running very hot. I tried to do the test to check the thermistor but did not give me a code reading but did beep. Is this still the thermistor or is this the exhaust sensor or are they the same thing? Removed dryer away from the exhaust hose in the back and is still running very hot.
1 Answer Hello Barbara, This sounds like you either have a stuck relay on the control board WP8546219 or a shorted heating element WP3387747. Read More...
