Part Number: OEM18025710
Manufacturer Part Number: WP3406653

This sensor harness connects the dryer's moisture sensor bars to the main wiring, helping the control or timer read moisture levels so Auto Dry cycles can advance and deliver consistent, reliable drying performance.

  • Provides the electrical path between the moisture sensor bars and the control/timer
  • Enables the dryer to sense wet fabrics and adjust or advance Auto Dry cycles
  • A damaged or open harness can cause Auto Dry to not advance, run too long, or stop early
  • Contribute to inconsistent dry times or a "Sensing" indicator that behaves abnormally
What's included: One sensor wire harness Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing
  • Access the sensor bars at the front bulkhead; note wire routing and clip locations
  • Transfer routing/clips from the old harness; connect to both sensor bars and the main harness plug, ensuring snug terminals and clear wire paths
  • Restore power and run an Auto Dry test; inspect/clean the sensor bars and check harness continuity

For Whirlpool Sensor Harness (Dryer Moisture Sensor) (Part Number: OEM18025710)

Hello Dean, This is a one way sensor and goes from moist to moist return. It should not matter which side you would hook to which.

Lorenzo, It's most likly a "P F" code. This would indicate a power failure, or a low voltage situation. You may want to check and make sure the power cord connections at the terminal block are good and tight, and that the outlet maintains 240 VAC when the dryer is running. We'll send you some additional information that should help. Thanks

Hello Mark. Hook the terminals to the spades by the air duct assembly. Then connect the connector to the wiring harness on the unit.

Hi Amanda. Moisture sensor test: Open the door and locate two metal strips on the inside of the dryer (on the lint filter intake). Bridge these strips with a wet cloth or a finger. If a continuous beep is heard and an alphanumeric number is displayed on the console then the sensor is OK. If not,or if a continuous beep tone is heard before bridging the moisture strips, go top step #5. It will be advantageous to find the supplied tech sheet inside the cabinet to aid you in the diagnosis. It allows you to put the unit in a diagnostic mode which brings up fault codes and tells you which circuit needs assistance.Make sure the vent is entirely clear and not restricted. Make sure the outside vent cap / hood is opening and closing properly 4-5x /yr. so lint and moisture does not back up and create a restriction causing these issues. The sensor wiring harness is part # WP3406653. Thank You.

Dryer will not turn on. Passes Diagnostic test but still gets power failure code. All I hear is a click when the start button is pushed. Timer counts down, unit shows it's sensing but nothing else. Dryer motor does not power up or hum. Door switch passed it's test, Fuse passed it's test, Termistor seemed to be close of it's ranges. When I tested the Moisture sensor it appears to have failed and gave me the code 7E or E7 on that test. Will this cause these problems or does it just make the thing run forever?

Hi Rob. The therrmister is part # WP8577274. It will read 10,000 ohms good. If not within 5% then replace it. E-1 and E-2 is a thermistor open or shorted code. Thank You.

All settings always thinks the clothes are wet. I have cleaned the electrodes for mositure sensing. I get 3.7v on each lead from the sensors (after the caps) Yellow/red stripe and black/yellow stripe referenced to ground. I applied a wet towel to the sensors and get 1.5v on each lead. I'm not able to get the spec sheet because of current dryer location. Do I need to replace the harness that connects the sensor strips or could it be a main board failure? There are no other issues at this time. So again the problem: Start the machine in auto detect mode and it just continues to run. Cloths are hot, machine cycles correctly, clock stops sometime after 40+ mins and machine says cloths are wet. Even with empty drum. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I would first check the exhaust duct. Since the dryer drum rides on felt seals, if the exhaust is crimped or otherwise restricted, the exhaust will blow past the drum seals putting the heat, lint, and moisture back into the cabinet where it is recirculated back through the clothes. (The vents on the units' back is the air inlet so when the air blows into the cabinet it is a recirculation of the same moisture which was just removed form the clothing). As you can see, this will cause a very long dry cycle and the moisture sensor will sense the same moisture again. Also try running the unit disconnected from the duct. There is a definate problem if it still doesn't advance. If none of this pans out, the main board WP8546219 has probably got a problem. (The tech. sheet should be behind the bottom front panel in a plastic bag).
