Chris December 26, 2012 for Model Number Maytag Double oven MEW6627BAC My oven doors do not seem to close all the way and make a tight seal. If you push on the doors when they are closed, they have some give. However this hasn't seemed to effect the function of the oven. How can I tell if it is the hinges that are faulty? Is there some kind of adjustment I can make or is there something else that can be causing this? Please help.
1 Answer Hello Chris, If the door is positioned on the hinges properly and it is still not sealing, it's likely your hinges WP74008014 are the issue. Some have adjustment and some do not. If they cannot be adjusted to your satisfaction I would replace them. Also make sure your door lining is engaging the hinges properly. Sometimes it helps to take the door off and reinstall it to correct the alignment. Hope this helps! Read More...
Naji August 16, 2012 for Model Number fgs366ecg I have a left broken hinge.and left broken hinge receptacle. and i am unable to latch it so in the lock position. The right side is pefectly fine. just the left side and i am unable to remove door. Is there any trick i can do so i can lock the hing and be able to remove the door. Anything is greatly appreciated. thanks
1 Answer Naji, under the circumstances, you may want to try using a pair of "vise grip" pliers or other small clamping device. open the oven door and set the lock on the working hinge. then clamp the pliers or device to the broken hinge and remove the door per the instructions. You'll need to replace the hinge, and the receptacle so any damage to those components would be corrected by the repair parts. Thanks Read More...
