Marlene, The door hinge for your unit is part number WP74008014. A bad door hinge would cause the door closing issue and replacing the hinge will correct it.

Long sad tale.. A year ago, to correct the oven door not closing issue, I purchased two new hinges for the door on my unit (logical culprit I assumed). Did not correct issue of oven light coming on due to door not closing fully. 4 months ago the right side hinge released from the frame receptical and the door fell to a tile floor resulting in an expensive outer glass replacement. Straightened out the left side hinge (bent from door release issue above and re installed with new glass, checking that the fold over clips on the hinge ears (tabs) were firmly engaged and in lock position. Yesterday the right side hinge disconnected while opening door and was caught by an athletic son before it fell to the tile floor again. Will the indicated $97 Hinge Kit be a real and lasting solution or am I continuing to push a bad product to perform? My wife is running a balance sheet against ripping out the offending product and my defenses are flagging. Thanks, Craig

Jared, The door hinges that you would need are part number 12002489. You will want to check the door liner as well to make sure that it is not warped in the hinge area. If it is then you would need to replace the door liner as well.

Sorry, I'm not in the same building as the oven, so I can't check the S/N right now. But, here is the parts diagram for that model on your web site: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5177100 Also, if you look at Part Number AP4101029 here http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=4101029 it does list my model number JJW9530DAB in the list (note it is not in alpha order, it is the 9th from the bottom of the list).

Shawn, I'm sorry, the model being provided is JJW9530DAB and the model being researched is JMW9530DAB, the first digits are different. For the researched model JMW9530DAB the hinges do look similar, however, that model is not listing a kit for the hinges. The hinges for the model are part number WP74010283, you will also need to order the receptacle WP74011337. We do not have a listing of a model JJW9530DAB. Thanks.

Shawn, please double check your model number. Jen Air is not providing a model that ends in DAB. Also, what is your serial number please? Thanks.

Your individual parts pages list which models the parts are compatible with, but it seems like the kits do not. Can you tell me if this will work for Jenn Air model JJW9530DAB? Will this kit will solve the problem of a door that does not close enough to seal, so the light doesn't go off and the oven doesn't preheat or hold temp properly? Lastly, will I need anything else, like a new seal (part # AP4097120), or I can I re-use the old seal? Thanks!

Hello Shawn! I have located a model JJW9530BAB, B instead of first D. The hinge kit is not called for your model. You will have to purchase the original hinge WP74008014 and receptacle WP74008015. If the hinges are worn out or not tigthened properly it could cause the unit to to seep out the hot air when heating causing it not to hold temp properly. Hope this helps!
