Hello M.M., The door hinge WP8181843 is the correct part to correct a drooping door. Most of these that I have had to change was due to folks putting their weight on the door with their arm while loading or unloading the machine. You simply cannot see damage by just looking at it. The only way you can tell it has damage is by opening the door and closing it slowly while watching the alignment of the door strike as it meets the door switch assembly. If it strikes too low, the hinge replacement is the only way to correct the situation.

Hello Beth, Unfortunately, I have to be the bearer of bad news. This is one of the few models that doesn't allow a door swap. Because of the shape of the door, the location of the door lock assembly (and harness), and the mounting of the door hinge, Whirlpool never made allowances for the reversal of the door.

Hello Tina, Remove the screws and lift straight up to slide the door off of the "hook clips" it hangs on. Lay the door inside up on a towel or blanket. As you remove the screws, be sure to place them where you will put them back in the same holes during reassembly. I usually sit with my legs straight out so I can support the edges of the door while I work on it. As long as you put the screws back where you removed them from, the rest is just a matter of removing screws and replacing them. The hardest part is getting the three sections back together straight. You may want to have help to get them straight when getting the glass back in.

Hello Mary! The hinge is part number WP8183202 and connects to the door using screws WP8540725 at the top and the bottom of the hinge. If the part you are speaking of is physically on the hinge, you will need to purchase the hinge itself. There is a picture of this part on our website to view. Thanks!
