Renji February 11, 2023 for Model Number KUDP01ILBS5 Water keeps filling up into the tub when the washer is off. I turned off the water inlet valve yet it does the same. I am suspecting the drain water is backing into the tub. Perhaps the check valve is broken or plugged?? Could you please advise what needs to be done and if parts are to be replaced please advise that too. Thanks
1 Answer Make sure your drain line has a high loop installed. If it does and water is backing into the dishwasher we recommend contacting a plumber. Read More...
Leslie October 20, 2022 for Model Number 66513032k112 The dishwasher seems to work correctly but at start the water going into the garbarge disposal smells like death. The water left in the sump smells awful too. Is this due to water from the garbage disposal flowing down into the dishwasher because of a faulty check valve? It appears I have to buy the entire hose assembly. Can I buy just the check valve? Thanks!
1 Answer Leslie, You can try some dishwasher affresh cleaner before replacing any parts W10282479. Since water will stay in the sump between uses if the unit is not run for weeks at a time this will start to stink after a little while. Read More...
John June 15, 2022 for Model Number MDB8959SBB0 Water standing in bottom of dishwasher. All hoses and filters spotless. Drain motor working. Drain cycle will drain it out. Thinking the check valve is stuck open letting water back in. Says DTS-1579 on fitting. Is my check valve the problem and if so what part do I order to replace it? Thanks!!!
1 Answer John, if the water is under the sump filter and is about 1" in height, this is normal operation. However, if the water is rising above the sump filter, the failure would be in the water valve W11175771. Read More...

Jennifer February 22, 2020 for Model Number WDT910SAYH3 My dishwasher drains everything except 1 3/4" of water in the bottom of the cup where the round "cup like" filter is. You can not see the water unless you take the filter out. Is this normal to always have this water lying in that cup area? My drain line is raised higher before it reaches the garbage disposal. Thanks!
1 Answer Jennifer, You will always have some water down in the filter assembly. This is normal. Read More...

Suzy September 21, 2016 for Model Number WDF530PLYW0 Dishwasher not draining. no clog from garbage disposal or from filter. Should next step be replacing drain hose or drain pump or other? I have taken out drain pump and can find no debris there. I can not access ALL of the drain hose to know if it's clear. My "snake" from the disposal end doesn't seem to maneuver all the loops.
1 Answer Suzy, You will want to check the drain pump to make sure that there is 120 vac getting to the drain pump. If there is then this issue will be a bad drain pump. Read More...

I need to find out the missing part of the pump check valve - could it be possible this missing part is stucked inside the drain check valve - need help Thanks

Bob July 24, 2014 for Model Number Kenmore 66517032403 Hi. When replacing the drain hose, do I need to disconnect the copper line water feed? Or can I simply roll out the dishwasher to replace the hose? And can you confirm that replacement drain hose includes the check valve? Thanks in advance. Bob
1 Answer Bob, It is best to remove the copper line to the unit to ensure that it does not get damaged when pulling the unit out. As for the check valve. The hose does not have a check valve in it but it is located on the sump assembly and you would want to replace part number WP8268375. Read More...
Bill February 20, 2014 for Model Number GU1200XTLQ1 My elderly neighbor had a mouse chew up the drain hoses on her Whirlpool dishwasher. There are 2 hoses that were chewed up and I can't tell where they split or connect. Do you know where I can find a diagram or picture of the hose connections? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Bill, The only drain hose on the unit is the one that goes from the pump housing to the sink drain. It does go up the side of the unit and back down. This loop is necessary for proper draining so if it has to be replaced, this loop has to be present in addition to the loop up to countertop level under the sink before connecting to the drain. There is a fill line that runs from the home plumbing to the water valve and then there is an inlet hose that goes from the water valve to the water inlet assembly on the right side of the unit. There are no other water hoses under the unit external to the pump assemblies. Read More...
