Brent May 25, 2016 for Model Number GEW9250PW0 In the last year i've had issues with this dryer intermittently beeping while we're drying cloths. We thought the control board was getting damp so we started leaving the door open on the dryer when we were done and that seemed to help. Now the mode selector switch seems to be acting up. I've run into scenarios where, if i touch the knob slightly while it's running, it will beep repeatedly yet continue to run like normal. This AM my wife went to dry cloths and the light on the selector was stuck on "touch up". No matter what she selected and it wouldn't even start (even on "touch up") so she unplugged. I plugged it back in this PM and everything seems fine. I'm suspecting it's the switch on the interface which i assume would mean i need a whole new interface but defer to your thoughts. Thank You.
1 Answer Hello Brent. Yes, it sounds like you need to replace the interface on the unit. Read More...
Larry November 24, 2015 for Model Number Whirlpool duet dryer MO1002123 Do you have any videos showing the replacement of the interface for this dryer? Also cost of the part?

Tisha September 26, 2015 for Model Number GEW9250PWO Non on the lights on my dryer come on. For a while I could unplug it for a few minutes and then it would work again when I plugged it in. Now it won't work at all. We replaced the control board today and it still isn't working.
1 Answer Tisha, The most likely cause for the lights not come on would be a faulty main control board. The part number for this control board is WP8546219. This part is located on the inside left wall of the dryer. Read More...
Steve W June 27, 2015 for Model Number DUET DRYER GEW9250PW1 I have been having intermittent issues with the control lock that does not respond to the 3 second end of cycle solution. As I recall the initial problem occurred after using the manual setting, probably for the first time. After that I had problems with the automatic settings working resolved by pulling out the plug. Then I discovered that the dryer electronics would work normal at low heat more reliably. For a while I always got resolution of all problems by unplugging for 12 hours. In fact I leave the dryer always unplugged. Today I used a manual setting at high heat. I heard regular beeping and checked. The heat setting went to air dry only, the control lock was on, the dryer was still tumbling the clothes, but for the first time got the PF error. I assume its the user interface electronics . Want to make sure its not the thermistor, thermal fuse, or main control board. Any thoughts??
1 Answer Steve, With the unit switch settings on its own it sounds like there is an issue with a stuck key on the User interface board. The user interface would be the most likely cause and would need to be replaced. The user interface part number is WP8558753. Read More...
Charles April 20, 2015 for Model Number GEW9250PWG When using preset buttons such as normal, heavy duty etc. the time of drying is cut short. That is to say the only way I can dry is to use the timed drying feature. Can you tell me what the problem is?
1 Answer Hello Charles. On the auto cycles, the unit is designed to do this. Only on the timed dry can you adjust the time. This is normal. Read More...
Curtis A November 23, 2014 for Model Number GEW9250PL1 My wife went to check the dryer, she recieved a static electricity shock. The more time button, pause cancel button don't work. Also, the selector knob, when trying to switch programs, beeps, but the led stays on the original selection.
1 Answer Curtis, Based on the description of the problem, this issue will be caused by a faulty control board WP8558753. Read More...
Karen September 14, 2014 We have a Whirlpool duet gas dryer that we have had intermittent issues with the controls working. The first time it happened the control lock was stuck on and the controls would not allow us to take it off. After waiting a few days and trying again it worked fine and we were able to use the dryer. The second time, a week later, the control on button would not work. We ended up cleaning out the lint area and cleaning the connectors on the door switch and once it was back together it worked. Now a week later the control on button will not work again. We tried the same remedy as before but this time it did not work. We believe it may be the control board that needs to be replaced. What do you think it may be? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Karen, This is going to be a corrupted program in the EEPROM. This basically means the main control board will need to be replaced. The part number will be model dependent. Read More...
Scott September 06, 2014 for Model Number GEW9250PL1 I purchased the Electronic Control panel (part # 8558753) for my Whirlpool Duet dryer (model: GEW9250PL1). I didn't notice when I ordered that there are actually 3 Electronic Control panels (part #s AP3775714, AP3775978 & AP3777740). I did not get the one with the grey buttons which is what my original part was. Is the circuitry different on those 3 boards, or is the button color the only difference? The buttons aren't working properly on the new unit. For example, the ON button doesn't do anything, the CANCEL button turns the controls on if they're off, but now I can't turn it off. The timed dry is at 99 minutes and the button to lower it doesn't do anything. I had previously ordered the Control Board (part # 8546219), but that didn't fix the issues. So I'll probably try to put that back in to see if that corrects the current issues, tho I wouldn't expect it to. -Scott
1 Answer Scott, There is no difference in the different control panels other than colors. It is possible that you received a faulty panel but you will want to check the wiring also. Read More...
Anil August 30, 2014 for Model Number GGW9250PW2 The Whirlpool gas dryer control panel buttons do not work. Details of the problems are as follows: 1) First of all we have to unplug the power cord and then plug it in after 30 min of rest then only the dryer may work 2) even when it does work, the control buttons are ineffective, for example, when turned on with dial set on timed drying, it shows 40 min which cant be changed 3) if the door is opened during the above timed drying event, the closing of door won't resume the drying.3) In the middle of drying, the machine will stop 4) restarting using unplugging and plugging the power chord during the drying session (because the dryer has stopped) leads to PF error message which may or may not allow the dryer to restart upon pushing the start button. I have changed the thirmister and cleaned the lint areas, inside outside. Do you think that this case may be related to moisture deposits somewhere in the system ? In the past when this had happened (1 yr ago), I had cleaned all the lines and removed massive amounts of lints from the blower lines. Also, I have a house cleaner who always puts very wet clothes in the dryer to dry and does not now how to work with the buttons. That may have also contiributed to these problems which may have affected the operation of the control panel buttons. I don't want to unnecessary repelace the dryer for the reason of creating unnecessary environmental waste.Your kind help in this matter will be appreciated.
1 Answer Anil, Based on the description of what is going on with the unit, it sounds like you have a control panel problem that would require the user interface to be replaced. The part number is WP8558753. Read More...
Colleen R August 19, 2014 for Model Number GEW9250PW0 Need some help determining if I need the control board or electronic control for my dryer. There is power to the dryer but at times the dryer will not turn on. Sometimes when does turn on the dryer will only turn on when control knob is turned to the normal mode and then you can move it from there to the load you would like to use. Other times when it turns on and you try to turn the control knob to a different setting if will turn on automatically and run for about 5-10 minutes and then shut off. Any idea what part I would need for these problems. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Colleen. It sounds like the electronic board WP8558756 is bad on the unit. Read More...
