Color: Platinum - This is a Whirlpool dryer user interface. It sits behind the outer control panel on top of the dryer and manages and monitors the dryer's cycles. The user interface can short out due to power surge or exposure to excessive heat or moisture. If the dryer is not responding to user input, the control has likely shorted out. Before installing this part, be sure to disconnect power to the appliance and allow it to cool completely. The dryer will need to be pulled away from the wall to access the screws holding the outer control panel in place. Remove the screws from each side of the control panel to gain access to the old control. Disconnect any wire harnesses connected to it and remove any screws mounting it in place before installing the new part.
