Don June 05, 2014 for Model Number GEW9250 I've purchased a new user interface (8558755). I have the top off the unit and the 3 screws off the front cover that covers the interface board but it wont budge. What are the steps to replace the UI?
1 Answer Hello Don. Once the screws are removed off the top, you should be able to unsnap the control panel from the unit. Look on the inside and see if there is any screws you have missed. Read More...
Dave October 02, 2013 for Model Number gew9250pw0 I have used the tech guide to try and diagnose my dryer (Whirlpool Duet). The control board checks out so I'm suspicious of the interface. The dryer light comes on inside of the unit...but no LED's, no power to the interface...in other words, dead. The tech guide recommended testing the resistance on the interface...and I never got higher than 5.5 ohm when it looks like the range for most settings is 10-20 ohms. The guide throws me off when it then said any reading under 40 is good. Thoughts as to the culprit? Thank you in advance for your help.
1 Answer Hello Dave. The interface is testing good as for resistance. However, if there is power to it, and it does not come on, then it is bad. The resistance test is just telling you the buttons are good. Read More...
Chris July 22, 2013 for Model Number GEW9250 After the last time I used the dryer the control lock light came on. I've tried resetting it with the end of cycle, no response. I tried powering it down and still nothing. Nothing functions on the interface but I know it could be the main board as well. Everything I read on the chat forums for this issue says the user interface. Does that sound right and what is the correct P/N to order. Please help, need my dryer back working.
1 Answer Hello Chris. See if there are any stuck buttons on the unit. If not, you will need to order and replace the user interface on the unit. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Richard. Disconnect the power. Three screws secure the washer top at the back of the washer. Remove the three screws and lift the top from the washer. Disconnect the Touch Pad/LED Assembly ribbon connector from the left side of the Central Control Unit and release it from the wiring harness brackets on the right side of the washer top. Remove the detergent dispenser drawer by pressing down on the release tab at the back of the drawer and pulling it completely out of the washer. Once the drawer is removed, remove the screw in the recessed hole next to the drawer opening. Release the tab securing the right side of the console to the washer. Open the washer door and place a flat-bladed screwdriver into the slot in the bottom center of the console. Push the console up to release center console tab. Be sure the ribbon cable clears the cabinet frame. The Touch Pad/LED Assembly is removed as a single unit and contains the Push Buttons, LEDs, cable, etc. The buttons can be replaced separately. 1 Answer Nick, Did you by chance have a power supply issue, before this occurred ? and you have nothing in the display, when you press the start button. It actually sounds more like a control board issue WP8546219. We'll send you some additional information that should help you test and confirm the issue with the dryer. Thanks Read More...
Mike June 05, 2012 for Model Number gew9250pw1 Dryer wont power up. I installed a new machine control electronic board and still nothing. Could it be the console interface board? Also when I did get it to power up, the temp light moved up and down.
