The Icemaker Motor Module is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This module is the heart of the icemaker, responsible for controlling the ice production cycle. It manages the timing, water fill, and ice tray ejection, ensuring that your refrigerator consistently produces and dispenses ice.

Symptoms of a bad Icemaker Motor Module include:

  • The icemaker failing to produce ice,
  • Ice cubes not ejecting into the bin,
  • The icemaker making unusual noises during operation.

Causes of motor module failure typically involve mechanical wear from continuous use, electrical failures such as short circuits, or water damage affecting the electronic components.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Hello Malcolm. There is no set time for the icemaker cycle. On average, a cycle is 2-3 minutes and the fill time is 5 to 7 seconds. The icemaker sends the power to the valve.

Rose, That would be the "auger" motor, WP2252130 / WP2252130, that's the motor that stirs the cubes and turns the auger shaft to dispense the cubes or crushed ice. It's a very good likelihood the motor has failed or the wiring connection(s) have come loose. You'll need to remove the dispenser facade and controls in order to access the motor.

Andrew for Model Number GD5RHAXNB00

Hello i have a whirlpool gd5rhaxnb00 with an ice maker. The optics are fine, i replaced the control module, it did not produce ice for 16 hours. Unplugged the fridge for about 5 minutes, and jumped the motor. Everything seemed to work fine. The tines spun, seemed like the heater engaged, and it filled with water at the end. Now it will not eject the ice after 12 hours. Does this mean the thermostat needs to be replaced? Thank you for your help

Andrew, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty thermostat on the icemaker of the unit.

Hello Jack. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Steve, If the icemaker arm is stuck in the up position and will not come down then it sounds like the motor module on the icemaker has failed. The part number for the motor module for your unit is W10190935.

Connie, You will want to check to make sure that the fill cup is not clogged with ice. This would be the most likely cause. Also check the icemaker mold is not deteriorating. If the fill cup is clogged then you will want to replace the water valve as this is the most likely cause for the issue.
