The Icemaker Motor Module is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This module is the heart of the icemaker, responsible for controlling the ice production cycle. It manages the timing, water fill, and ice tray ejection, ensuring that your refrigerator consistently produces and dispenses ice.

Symptoms of a bad Icemaker Motor Module include:

  • The icemaker failing to produce ice,
  • Ice cubes not ejecting into the bin,
  • The icemaker making unusual noises during operation.

Causes of motor module failure typically involve mechanical wear from continuous use, electrical failures such as short circuits, or water damage affecting the electronic components.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Icemaker Motor Module (Part Number: OEM9532035)

Hello Josh. You will need to check and see if the icemaker is over filling. If so, the valve W10408179 may not be shutting off quick enough, causing the icemaker to overflow. Hope this helps.

Hello Bud. You will need to remove the icemaker from the freezer. Then remove the cover and the screws holding the module in place. Unplug the wiring harness going to the module. Then remove the module from the mold and shaft assembly. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps.

Brian for Model Number GS6NBEXRS01

I am trying to figure out what parts I need.. Two questions.. My whirlpool gold side by side, is only 2 years old. It will only make ice, maybe once a month. Water fills the tray, but it just sits there.. Then one day, it dumps it and we wait another month.. Now, all of a sudden, when we do get our once a month ice.. it wont dispense. I hear and see the trap door open, but nothing happens. Please assist so I can buy the right parts from you. Thank you.

Hello Brian. Make sure the ice bin is in the proper position and locked in place on the door. Make sure your the freezer air temperature is between 5 and 7 degrees F. When you open the freezer door, on the right side wall the panel has an on/off switch and a LED bulb. Is the light on, off or does it blink ? If there's no light , the icemaker is stuck in a harvest mode. If it blinks twice and pauses, press in on the flapper assembly on the left wall. If the blinking pattern persists, you have a bad optics control assembly and will need the control board kit W11629974. As for the dispenser motor, you'll need to remove the upper panel in the dispenser area. Under the ice bin, remove the screws and panel and lift the motor assembly up and out of the door panel and check for loose connections or damaged motor. Hope this helps!

If the valve is good, and the water is hooked up, then it should work. Did you jump from T&H on the module? On some models, you will need to hold the door switch closed while jumping T&H for the icemaker to go into harvest mode. If it doesn't move, then you have a bad module.
