The Icemaker Motor Module is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This module is the heart of the icemaker, responsible for controlling the ice production cycle. It manages the timing, water fill, and ice tray ejection, ensuring that your refrigerator consistently produces and dispenses ice.

Symptoms of a bad Icemaker Motor Module include:

  • The icemaker failing to produce ice,
  • Ice cubes not ejecting into the bin,
  • The icemaker making unusual noises during operation.

Causes of motor module failure typically involve mechanical wear from continuous use, electrical failures such as short circuits, or water damage affecting the electronic components.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

For Whirlpool Icemaker Motor Module (Part Number: OEM9532035)

Dmay for Model Number 10656566400

My Kenmore side by side refrigerator's ice maker quit working after the power was turned off and we had to evacuate due to fires for 3 days. When we returned everything in the freezer had melted, but the power had been back on for about 5 hours and things were refreezing. The ice maker will dispense a couple pieces of ice now and then. If I press the accelerate ice button it will drop some ice, but then I won't get anymore for about 6 hours. I had a repair person out and he said we need to replace the whole unit at a price of almost $400! Is this true? It was working perfectly before the power was turned off and we were forced to evacuate. Seems to me the freezing/melting/refreezing could have caused the problem. Thanks for your help!

Hi Gary. Check your fill tube for a frozen blockage. Remove the fill tube and rinse out under the sink. Completely dry (hair dryer). Remove he cover to the front of the ice maker, carefully jumper the "T" & "H" female openings with a insulated wire for 3 seconds. Hold in door switch. Remove the jumper wire after 3 seconds. This will let the ice maker "call" for water from the water valve. Are all the tray cubes full? If all this does not resolve the issue, Then replace the ice maker part # 4317943. Thank you.

Amy for Model Number KSCS25INSS

I have a kitchenaid refrigerator with icemaker that is 5 years old (model KSCS25INSS). About 5 months ago, the icemaker stopped ejecting ice. We purchased and installed the Replacement for Refrigerator Icemaker Motor Module Assembly. That solved the problem for about 2 months. At that point, the icemaker stopped ejecting ice, however the water kept trying to refill the trays, thus causing a the water to freeze throughtout the freezer. There were icicles everywhere, but no ice. At this point, we are thinking we need to purchase the entire Refrigerator ice maker assembly. Are we correct in thinking that is the right solution? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello Amy. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the icemaker 2198597 is bad and will need to be replaced. If you replaced the module, and the unit does not eject the ice and overflows, you will need to replace the icemaker assembly. Hope this helps.

Dave, You didn't supply us a model number, the first thing to consider is an issue with the fill valve, on the back of the refrigerator, and check and flush the water line. Since you know how to cycle the icemaker, you may want to disconnect the wires to the icemaker valve solenoid and check for 120 VAC across the wires, when the icemaker reaches the fill incremenet of the cycle, That would confirm a good icemaker. Thanks and Good Luck.

Sparky for Model Number 106 2198597(ice maker), 51552101(refrigerator)

My ice maker stopped working. The cube flipper will rotate if I tap on the module or if I touch the flipper itself. No water is coming out of the black rubber outlet in the freezer but it is not clogged, I know because I disconnected it from the source and blew into the end of the hose and air came out. The water is still coming out very well from the door and the filter is pretty new. Do you think that it is the module itself?

Hi Sparky. Is Your refrigerator model # "1065152101"? If so then I would change the P.C. control board kit part # W11629974. Behind your toe kick grill is the folded diagram that will assist you in further diagnosis. Thank you.

Hi Sandy. Sorry about your issues. Please check your fill tube that brings the water into the ice maker to see if it is frozen with ice. If so then remove it from the back wall of the freezer and thaw it out. Ir it is clear, then replace the water valve part # is [2188746]. Thank you.

Hello Alan! May we have your full model number? The model given, PLRS267ZA, is partial and the icemaker varies per model. Thanks!

Todd for Model Number KSRS27iSS02

Ice maker stopped working about two weeks ago after 7 plus years. First replace water filter. Then when that did not work, I ordered (separately) the emitter/receiver and then later the control module unit from your company. Very prompt delivery both times. Replacement of emitter/receiver began the light/optics properly (so I do believe they were bad or broke in the cascading failure of the ice making process). Still no ice, so I then ordered and replaced the entire contol unit. Happliy, first batch of ice was made in about 2 hours. Decided to remove control unit to clean out tray (in part, it looked like grease was inside). Now ice maker makes one batch but 0 ice stays frozen in the tray - it cannot remove it with the emitter arms. Requires me to pour some water on ice, it loosens it and then I can remove it. Did I remove necessary "grease"? Does the machine loosen the ice similarly? How can I correct/repair? I do not believe the water/solenoid is bad since it is delivering water through the door and has made ice multiple times since parts were replaced. I am close to calling a repair person as I seem to be loosing my ability to repair - my wife is having a field day with this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Dina. You will need to test the micro-switch WP2162361 and make sure there is power there, and the switch is working properly. If there is power there, but the switch is bad, you will need to replace the micro-switch. If the switch is good and power is there, you will need to test and see if there is power going to the auger motor WP2212363. If there is power there, and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
