The only part that I really need is the brass circuit panel that is used to provide power to the heating element, but I can't seem to find just that part and the motor assembly appears to cost more then this entire unit.

Ian F June 05, 2014 for Model Number MFX2570AEM0 I was not able to find information anywhere, not with you, not with RepairClinic, not on YouTube, not with Maytag, etc., on how to remove my icemaker so that it could be serviced. I finally figured it out on my own, but am wondering if I did it properly. When pulling it out and pushing it back in, it has to be forced past the tip of the water inlet hose that extends down from the top of the refrigerator. This hose is exposed on the top of the exterior of the refrigerator and I'm wondering if that is supposed, somehow, to be pulled up a quarter of an inch so that the icemaker doesn't have to be forced past it. I have not been able to find any information anywhere.

Nick May 23, 2014 for Model Number MFI2665XB6 Hello, looking for a little help in diagnosing the ice maker on my unit. I put it in test mode and was able to confirm that the unit was communicating with the main board. Used a jump wire and was able to get the unit to fill up but it will not dump the ice. I think the unit is bad. Is there any more tests I need to complete or should I just replace the ice maker
1 Answer Nick, It does sound like the thermostat on the icemaker is faulty in which case you would want to replace either the thermostat [627985] or replace the complete icemaker assembly. Leo April 14, 2014 for Model Number G16FDRXXX07 I have a Whirlpool refrigerator that is only two years old. The ice maker was overfilling and causing my ice bucket to accumulate ice on the bottom. I replaced the ice maker and inlet valve and no water gets to the ice maker. The water in the door works fine. I poured some water into the ice maker and it cycled through and ejected the ice out. I took out the ice maker and held a blow drying at the fill tube for a few minutes and no water dripped out. Is there another piece that is left that I missed that shuts off the ice maker water supply?
1 Answer Leo, Just by holding a hair drier at the fill tube for a couple of minutes does not necessarily mean that it is not clogged with ice. The ice could be further back. What you can do is access the water valve and disconnect the icemaker fill tube. Go to the top of the unit and take off the cover over the fill tube. Pull the fill tube out of position and then pull the tubing completely out to check to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. If frozen then thaw and reinsert. There is a channel that it will slide through so will not be too difficult to reinstall. The other thing to check is the icemaker module. 1 Answer Jennifer, in general (you forgot to include a model number for the refrigerator). you'll need to remove power to the refrigerator. Check and make sure the two mounting screws are in the holes in the ide wall, they need to be loose, but partially installed. Remove the cut out from the I/M fill cup, on the back of the ice maker. Normally you would install the I/M wiring harness, and plug it into the wall plug in the freezer. Then align the opening in the fill cup to the fill tube and slide the ice maker up enough to align the mounting screws with the top mounting tabs, and slide the ice maker down, and tighten the screws, slightly. Use a small level and make sure the ice maker is level, then tighten the mounting screws properly. A lot of refrigerators have a mounting bracket and screw, to support the front of the icemaker. Mount the bracket the bottom of the ice maker, then install the screw holding the bracket to the wall, Then tighten both screws evenly. How can I diagnose the source of the problem without just randomly replacing parts? This has happened in the past. It stopped, then started again all on it's own. But now it seems to have called it quits. I know how to remove bottom cover and slide unit out. What next? I do have a meter, though to be honest, I'm not savvy with it. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I know how to replace icemaker if need be. But in my frig.,the dual valve is not behind the frig. It is behind an inside frig. panel to the right just below the filter. How do I change that valve? 1 Answer Hello Donnie, Loosen the two screws retaining the icemaker to the unit wall and slip the icemaker up and off of them, (sometimes the rear one will have to be completely removed because of a harness support). Remove the cover from the front of the icemaker and unplug the harness by depressing the white tab in the side of the icemaker module head.
