Mike, If the connectors that you are referring to on the user interface are part of the greyish wire harness then the user interface would need to be replaced. These wire harness for the user interface is installed on where it should not be able to be removed. The other end would go to the main control board.

Hello Annoyed, If no suffix is listed on your units' I.D. tag, it is always presumed to be the same as 0. The last digit is a way the manufacturer has to separate newer units from the older units and can sometimes affect the parts used on the unit. The part you were viewing is correct for your unit. I went ahead and looked up all similar model numbers and they all use this same part number for the user interface.

Brenda, Unfortunately the manufacturer does not make the plastic casing of the user interface a separate part and would need to purchase the User interface assembly WP8181905.

Don for Model Number GHW9100LW

First of all, my washer doesn't have a 0,1,or 2 at the end of the model number - does that mean an older model? Anyhow, we had a problem with the start button not working several months ago. I took it apart and found the little black frame that holds the button was broken and the button was just floating, and not making consistent contact with the button on the circuit board. A little tape took care of that and it's been working since. But just since a few days ago, the cycle indicator light would blink even when the door was closed. For a while that didn't seem to affect anything, but then it wouldn't start intermittently, and finally it quit altogether - the door would not lock, hence the machine wouldn't start. I did some research and figured that the door latch was the culprit so I ordered a new one and just changed it out tonight. No help. Cycle light still blinking, no lock, no start. More research - some were suggesting it was the control unit, but then I tried the diagnostic, and it passed everything perfectly. The door locked and it went through all its phases just as the program indicated. But it still won't start when I move the cycle selector to a different cycle - just blinking light and no lock. Does this mean the control unit is OK but the interface board has failed? That's what I'm guessing, but wanted to check before I order one. Now I'm wondering if I wasted my money on a new door latch when maybe it was the interface board all along? Thanks.

Hello Don. Yes, it sounds like the interface has failed on the unit and will need to be replaced.

Hello Keith, Check all the wiring connections on the unit. If they are good, you will need to order and replace the interface on the unit.

Hello Mike. Disconnect the power. Remove the screws from the top panel and slide it back and off the unit. Once removed, you will remove the dispenser and remove all screws securing the control panel to the unit. Then unsnap the control panel from the cabinet on the unit. Remove the board and replace the button.

Linda G. for Model Number GHW9100LW2

Hi, my start button doesn't always work. Sometimes I have to push it several times on various parts of the button to work other times no problem . I read to press the pause /cancel button for a few seconds and then press the start button and that seems to work but that might be coincidence. So far I always manage to get it going but I want to fix the problem before it gets so bad that I without a washer completely. Do you think it's the user control and display board or does just the connection need to be cleaned? Thanks

1 Answer

Hello Linda, This could be a connection to the user interface or the user interface may need to be replaced. The only way to know for sure is to open the unit and see if unplugging each connector and re-connecting them corrects the issue. If it doesn't correct the issue, the user interface WP8181905 will need to be replaced.
