Erin June 14, 2022 for Model Number KUDS03CTSS0 Does this door latch "assemble" include the switch or just the door latch? I need both parts. I have a KitchenAid. Thank you, Erin
Doug June 09, 2018 for Model Number MDB7749AWW2 Stops during mid wash cycle with continuously blinking start button. When I press the start button again, it restarts the wash cycle then stops again in mid wash some 20 minutes later, and never reaches the dry cycle. I removed the door latch and put two small wires from the thermal fuse to the latch wires with the latch removed, clamped the door shut and ran a full cycle with no problems. I know the latch worked because the door wouldn't open. Now what?
1 Answer Hello Doug, You should run the diagnostics cycle to pull the fault codes. To invoke the Diagnostics Cycle, perform the following key presses or actions in less than 6 seconds while in standby: Heated Dry ? Normal ? Heated Dry ? Normal Invoking Service Diagnostics clears all status and last ran information from memory and restores defaults; It also forces the next cycle to be a sensor calibration cycle. Calibration cycles begin with a “sensor check” to determine whether the dishwasher has an OWI soil sensor. If the controller detects an OWI, it forces two rinses to occur prior to Final Rinse (to assure clear water), then calibrates the OWI during the final rinse. Turn on all LEDs immediately upon receiving entry sequence (even if door open) and throughout this first interval as a display test. If the flowmeter is operating correctly, the control will turn on the Clean LED when the flowmeter counts 3 or more pulses anytime during these intervals. Thermistor (temperature sensor) checks: Turn Clean LED on if the thermistor is in its normal temperature range of 62°F–160°F. Turn sanitized LED on if the thermistor is above 100°F. OWI (optical soil sensor) checks: Check OWI sensor for the presence of clear water during the 5 sec pause in interval 13 and turn on the Clean LED in interval 12 if clear water detected. Check OWI sensor for the presence of air during the last 5 sec of Drain interval 3 and turn on the Clean LED in interval 2 if air detected. Check OWI sensor for the presence of bulk soil in the water during pause interval 8; execute max. allowed APFs and turn on Clean LED in interval 7 if bulk soil detected. Heater relay must lag wash motor relay by 1.5 sec at start-up of heated wash intervals to avoid simultaneous heater and motor in-rush current. Read More...
Dori April 30, 2018 for Model Number MDB7749AWM1 No lights came on when tried to start dishwasher. Replaced control panel which gave me lights but unable to get response on start or cancel button. Replaced door latch. Still no luck. What else could it be?
1 Answer Dori, For this issue the most likely cause will be a faulty control board on the unit. The part number for the control board will be W11202746. Read More...
Rhoda October 11, 2017 for Model Number KUDS03STSS2 Machine is not latching tightly, but the dishwasher still starts. Some water leaks out. Is it the latch?

Danny August 15, 2017 for Model Number Maytag MDB7609AWS1 I can choose the cycle and heated dry and the lights come on machine just wont start. Doesn't appear to be latching properly would this cause it not to start. Some part of the latch assembly seem to be loose or maybe missing. Would think I could activate the latch by hand to test if this is the problem. Is there a way to test before ordering the wrong parts?
1 Answer Hello Danny. Yes, if the unit does not latch properly it will prevent the unit from starting. If the latch situation gets repaired and the issue continues, you will need to replace the control panel. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Wayne December 10, 2016 for Model Number KUD524SEBT5 The handle on my KitchenAid KUD524SEBT5 was loose feeling and would not unlatch the door to the dishwasher. I had to remove the two screws securing the d/w to the countertop and then pull d/w out to access the latch bar held in by two small bolts to open the door. I have ordered the latch mechanism found on this site. Are there any other parts that I should order at this time? Thank you.
1 Answer Wayne, No there should not have to be other parts required for repair other than the latch assembly. Read More...
Mark G August 14, 2016 for Model Number MDBH979SAW1 My soap door opens soon after starting the machine. Don't think this is correct. If not what is wrong?

Alan July 16, 2016 for Model Number MDB8959AWS4 Machine won't run and the clean light blinks 7 times also I believe the door latch is broken. Any suggestions
1 Answer Hello Alan. Control is programmed to stop running and not allow any further cycles if it detects a water heating problem (no temperature increase detected in heated Main Wash on 3 consecutive cycles). Control blinks the Clean LED 7 times repeatedly and disables the Start/Resume key until cleared. Heater circuit problem: ! Open in heater. ! Open connection or component in heater circuit. ! Faulty heater drive circuit on control. 1. Check operation of heater in Diagnostics cycle. 2. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power. 3. Check resistance of heater and all components and connections in the water heating circuit or heat dry circuit. Read More...

I have turned c/b off for 1 min and turned back on still nothing happens not sure if it is the latch or the computer panel again??
