Danny for Model Number Maytag MDB7609AWS1 I can choose the cycle and heated dry and the lights come on machine just wont start. Doesn't appear to be latching properly would this cause it not to start. Some part of the latch assembly seem to be loose or maybe missing. Would think I could activate the latch by hand to test if this is the problem. Is there a way to test before ordering the wrong parts?
Answer Hello Danny. Yes, if the unit does not latch properly it will prevent the unit from starting. If the latch situation gets repaired and the issue continues, you will need to replace the control panel. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
