1 Answer Jack, In order to get the door latch out, you will need to open the door and remove the screws around the perimeter of the inner door. Once removed you will lift the door and remove 1 screw holding the latch assembly in place. Remove the wire connectors and lift out the latch. Read More...
Jyl G. February 25, 2015 for Model Number MDB6650 My door latch needs repairing. I saw your repair video for the repair of a different model, and it seemed fairly straightforward, but this model has a separate latch and door handle. I don't think that I need a new door handle, but how do I know for sure?
Mike March 08, 2014 for Model Number mdb9150aww On the door handel switch does the dubble wires go on top or bottom?
Scott December 13, 2012 for Model Number MDB6650AWB I have no power to the dishwasher using any of the push button switches. There is power going into the right side of the door switch. When the switch is latched, I'm unable to get any power from the left sided terminals. I replaced the switch and I still have the same problem. I even replaced the control panel but the washer still won't turn on. The float switch seems to test out OK on the multimeter. ApplianceParts is sending out another door switch. Am I correct in assuming that once the door switch is latched, there should be power coming out of the left side of the switch? Also, when the door is latched, I can't measure any more voltage on the right side of the switch until the switch is again unlatched. Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Hello Scott. Test both switches, not for power, but for continuity. They both should close when the latch is closed on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Tom October 13, 2011 for Model Number mdb6650awq I replaced the control panel, the latch isn't making the micro switches. There is power at the switches.
1 Answer Hello Tom. Check and make sure the door latch is installed properly after replacing the control panel. If so, and the switches do not work, you will need to replace the door latch WP99002292. Hope this helps. Read More...
