Karen December 08, 2023 for Model Number MVWB835DW1 The first problem I had was the lid not opening after a load was complete. Whenever this occurred, I would unplug the washer to reset and the problem seemed to be solved. Then weeks later, some loads would remain somewhat wet when load was complete. Never got an error code for either problem. Watched YouTube Videos, hoping to reset or get an error code. Followed instructions to try and reset. Now washer won't start at all; lights are flashings and error code F5E3 shows up. If I order this part, will it solve all the problems? If not, can the part be returned, once opened? Also, how much is a mother-board for this washer, if the lid-lock assembly doesn't correct the problem. Thank you
1 Answer Karen, if the lid is lifting up, the lid latch would need to be tested for continuity from the white wire to the red wire while the lid is lifted. If there is continuity, the lid latch assembly W10810403 would need to be replaced. If there is not, the main control W11400681 would need to be replaced. 1 Answer Steve, it is recommended that this unit is placed into a diagnostic mode and placed into error code retrieval as this will indicate what failure could potentially be causing the lid lock light to stay on after finishing a cycle. Read More...

Tom December 15, 2021 for Model Number WTW8000DW5 Is it possible to have a bad lid lock and not get an error code? Can't operate in service mode.
1 Answer Tom, If you put the unit into a service diagnostic mode and there are no error codes then it would be likely that the lock is not the issue and it would most likely be a control board issue. Read More...
Tom December 14, 2021 for Model Number WTW8000DW5 Unit powers on but just beeps when any other button is pushed. How do you know if lid switch/ lock is defective?
1 Answer Hello Tom, suspecting the touchpad console is faulty, it is part W11089548. Once the washer is powered ON the console should allow you to switch between selections, only after the START pad is pressed will the washer will lock the lid and start the actual wash cycle. As a test you can try running the test modes, they are located on the Tech Sheet which is located behind the front panel in a plastic bag near the top. If the console does not allow access to the service tests that is another indication the keypad console is faulty as you need a working keypad console to access the tests. As a side note, this is not typically a control board problem as a failed control board would not even power up. Read More...

Brian July 22, 2021 for Model Number 11026132410 I need to replace my lid lock/switch and I'm following the video to open up the top of the washer removing the hinge screws and cover in the back of the unit. then sliding the top forward 1/2 inch, raising 1/4 inch an pushing backwards and lifting up but it just wont release. what am I doing wrong?
1 Answer Brian, it is possible that when the lid is pushed back it has not fully come away from the tracks beforehand, causing it to seat back into place. Pulling the lid as far forward as it will go, lift up and then try sliding it back. Read More...
Earl R. March 02, 2021 for Model Number WTW8040DW4 I purchased two switches from you for this washer. I bought two so I would have a spare. I do own three of this model of washer. The first switch didn't work at all. I thought maybe something else was wrong so I fooled around with it trying to figure something else out. I figured out it was a bad switch. I installed the second switch and it worked for three weeks and quit working. I need to be able to bypass this lid switch or receive actual working new switches.
1 Answer Hello Earl, You will need to call us at 1-877-477-7278 with your model and serial number so we can set the parts up for replacement if they are still in the part warranty. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Fred September 16, 2019 for Model Number MVWB865GW0 I believe the lid latch is bad on my Maytag model MVWB865GW0 , #1 how do you test the motor and #2 how do you replace the switch. I have removed the 2 screws which secure the switch but do not see where the wire is attached.
1 Answer Hello Fred, to access the main control board wire harness connections, at the rear of the control panel console remove the top 2 screws, then with a putty knife at the front opposite sides of the control panel slide a putty knife under the right then left front ends of the console where it meets the washer top, depress the spring clips and lift the console, the control board is under the console, .For testing your washer came with a Technical testing sheet it is located behind the front cabinet panel near the top, it has all testing procedures and component specs.
