Deb June 12, 2011 for Model Number KSB5WW3 Would like to verify that part # AP2930430 will be the replacement for Model # KSB5WW3 black drive coupling. I have had this household blender for a few years with minimal use. For some reason this part disintegrated even though I was very careful in seating the units together correctly. I was pulsating the contents and then switched to liquify when it started to make a slipping noise. I turned it off but it was too late. Please verify or provide the replacement part number. Thanks.

Stephanie May 03, 2011 for Model Number KSB50B4 Kitchenaid Blender Hi- I have a Kitchenaid Blender. The rubber feet on the coupling disintegrated and fell completely off leaving behind a small metal disk. I ordered a new coupling but it will not fit on top of that metal disk. (The metal disk has a blunt top that would not allow me to screw on the coupling.) I am wondering if this disk was left behind when the rubber section broke away? And if so, does it need to be removed? Help! Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Stephanie! The metal from the old drive coupling should be discarded. You can visit our free repair forum for the installation process of the drive couplings, here is a link that may help. Jerry March 21, 2011 How do you install the drive coupling for model # ksb5mc4 in a kitchen aid blender?
1 Answer Hello Jerry. Here are the steps for replacing the drive coupling for you blender. Blender Coupling Drive Installation 1) Unplug Blender 2) With blender facing you, insert flat blade screwdriver (3/8 to 7/16 inch) between the black coupling drive and the blender housing. 3) Raise up on the screwdriver to turn the coupling drive clockwise (it is a left hand thread so the coupler keeps tight during use). Keep making ¼ turns until the coupling drive comes off. Do not worry about bending the old coupling drive. You are going to throw it away. 4) There is a flat spot on the blender shaft and construction of a flat tool is possible, but not necessary. 5) Check the threads on the blender shaft and clean the old metal shavings from the threads. Hand tighten the new coupling drive. It will be kept tight during normal use due to the left hand thread design and the clockwise spinning of the blades. Jeff L February 18, 2011 Hello, I have the Kitchen Aid KSB5WW3 blender and the hard rubber coupling disintegrated when making a smoothie. The rubber piece is off and I can see the little rubber tips (six) that fit into the metal housing. I have been reading about replacing the metal collar too and am wondering why all this business needs doing. But I will attempt this feat of engineering if it is absolutely necessary, any help in deciphering this fix wuld sorely be appreciated.
