The Oven Bake Element is an OEM part for Whirlpool ovens. This crucial component is located at the bottom of the oven cavity and is responsible for providing the heat needed for baking. The bake element converts electrical energy into heat, which is then distributed throughout the oven to cook food evenly.

Common causes of a bad bake element include excessive use, accidental damage during cleaning, or a power surge that can burn out the element.

Symptoms of a bad Oven Bake Element include:

  • The oven not heating up to the set temperature.
  • Visible damage to the element, such as blistering, cracks, or breaks.
  • Lack of heat when the oven is turned on
  • An increase in cooking times

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

David, You would want to check power getting to the elements to make sure that the element is getting 240 vac. Based on neither of the elements working properly, this issue will most likely be in the thermostat.
