Hello John, If you ordered the part from us, we give a one year warranty on the part. I doubt there will be any warranty if you purchased it elsewhere since the manufacturers' part warranty is only 90 days.

Tom, To replaced the touch panel on your unit, disconnect the power to the unit. Once the power is disconnected, open the dishwasher door and remove the screws around the upper inner door. There should be 4 or 5 and then on going down the sides of inner door panel. Once removed you should be able to remove the control panel. You would then just need to switch the parts from one panel to the other.

Arlene Ryan for Model Number MDB5601AWQ3

I have a problem where just the heavy light and heated dry work. Washes for 2 hrs. I had someone come in and look at it and he believes it is the touch pad. However after reading other questions and answers on line, it seems to me that the problem might be the control panel. I have a bisque or almond color maytag dishwasher. Will control panel be inside?. If it turns out to be touch pad do you have that color. Is this part guaranteed? Thanks

Arlene, The control panel 6-919819 comes with the keypad already attached to it. You will want to open the inner door and disconnect the ribbon harness and check it for damage. It sounds like the issue may be dirty contacts and you would want to clean them and if they are ok then replace the control panel.

I own this model dishwasher and want to change it's color to a stainless steel look( w/black) to match my new appliances. I want to know if the panel control (AP436315) can easily be removed and the outer plastic area spray painted black or if there are wires and plugs attached, which will make it difficult to do?. Also does the whole door have to be taken apart or can the plastic panel just be removed?. I don't want to remove the panel and take a chance to mess up wires/control etc. if they are attached to this unit. The dishwasher works fine and I don't want to cause a problem.

Mary, To take the control panel off to the unit, there will be plugs and controls that have to be disconnected. To remove the control panel the inner door panel of the dishwasher will need to be taken out. Once out there will be 4 screws that hold the control panel to the front panel of the unit. As far as painting the control panel, you may be able to paint it with a special plastic paint.

Jeff, You will want to check the ribbon harness going from the control panel to the control board to make sure that there is no corrosion and that there is a good connection. If this checks ok then you will need to replace the control panel.
