Jim, Yes the washer can overheat and shut down in the spin cycle, if it is overloaded or has an off balanced load, but an off balanced load will reset when you open and close the lid. There are several things to check. Check for a small article, stuck between the tub and tub cover, and make sure the belts are not worn out and the motor moved freely(back and forth on the carriage assembly).But, with the age of the washer and depending on usage, you most likely have a tub bearing 6-2040130 6-2095720 that has "dried out" and causing excess drag on the motor and transmission, causing a poor spin and or the motor to overheat.

Hello Brent. It sounds like the transmission has failed and will need to be replaced in the unit. It usually is the one that leaks the oil when the seals are bad.

Walter, you are correct, the WP6-2022030 is the drain pump for your washer. It is belt driven so check and make sure the belt has not fallen off due to age or wear and tear. Then you'll need to check the tub to pump hose WP213045 to make sure there's nothing small stuck in the hose, then check to make sure the impeller hasn't broke loose from the drive shaft / pulley.

Hello John. Make sure the pump is not clogged and if not, you will need to replace the pump on the unit.

Yvonne, You'll need to raise and block the front of the washer up about 6 inches. On the bottom of the front panel, approximately 2 inches in from the corners, you'll see/find the two springloaded clips holding the front panel to the front base frame, you'll need a flat blade screwdriver to pry down on the clip, and pull out on the corner of the front panel, until it is free at the bottom. pivot the panel out at the bottom until the top clips release from the washer top panel and set the panel aside. Carefully reach under the base, and "roll" the pump belt off the pulleys. You'll need to place a few old towels in the cabinet or on the floor behind the washer to collect the water that will pour out of the hoses, when you loosen the hose clamps and remove the hoses from the pump outlets. You will need a 5/16 in nut driver or socket to remove the three(3) pump mount bolts, from the bottom side of the base, you can do this by feel mostly (use the 3 pump support legs as guides) lean the pump towards you and then lift the pump and pulley out of the opening in the base. Reverse the procedure to install the replacement pump, but leave the mounting bolts hand tight and as far to the right as possible, install the pump belt. Hold the motor assembly in position, and "pinch" the pump belt together in the center of the belt, you may see the pump slide to the left slightly, then tighten the pump mount bolts properly. This will give you the proper belt adjustment for both belts.

Hello Frank, The unit needs to be opened to determine what component(s) are at fault. To open the unit, use a paint scraper or putty knife to depress the tabs located about 3 to 4 inches from the sides just below the front edge of the main top. This will allow the main front to drop forward and you should be abler to run the unit and watch it with a flashlight to pinpoint the leaks point of origin.

Hello George. Check and make sure the water coming to the washer has good pressure. If so, you need to order and replace the water valve on the unit.
