Hello Lucy, This unit has no water filter on board. You could add one before the water reaches the refrigerator between it and the home water supply. You will need to order an in-line water filter TJ60461N and a 1/4 inch water line 12 inch TJ9SSIM1.

My ice maker stop making ice, first it was making ice but the ice wasn't dropping into the ice pale. I took it apart and looked for any burnt or damaged parts and couldn't find anything wrong. I checked it to see how many volts it was producing and 120 volts was going in, when i put it back together it worked for a 1\2 a day then stopped again i did it for a couple days unplugging it and it would work now its not doing nothing do i need to order a new part or ice maker?

1 Answer

Blane, With the intermittence of the icemaker working only after you disconnect and supply power to it would be an issue of a faulty icemaker which would need to be replaced.

My ice cube maker has started to overflow into the ice bucket. It still makes cubes but water overflows from the rear of the freezer into the ice bucket and from a place towards the front of the icemaker. I end up with a block of ice in the bucket and a big icicle towards the front, under the 2nd icemaker. I've replaced the water inlet valve and have replaced the filter I use to clean the water going to the icemaker so I know I have adequate water pressure to the device.

1 Answer

Hello John, While it may seem backwards, you could still have low water pressure to the water valve. Since water pressure is all that closes the water valve, low water pressure will cause the valve to stay open too long and cause the overflow condition. If the water pressure is sufficient, I would replace the water valve WP2315576.

Hello Ed, These are to ground the icemaker to the chassis of the unit to protect against electrical shock. The short one is normally clipped onto the evaporator cover and the long one clips to the evaporator mounting bracket.

Michael for Model Number ED25TQXFW01

Hello, Please help! I ordered this part, The first unit did not work and a second one was sent. It also does not work. The temp is 0 deg. f. and the water flow valve functions. What else? I checked the valve separately both sides of valve work fine. I did not use an Ohm Meter, The harness to the ice maker has 4 wires. 1 Pos 1 neutral 1 ground and 1 that runs to the water valve. I ran power from pos. to the valve using a jumper wire and water flowed freely to ice maker. ice maker was out and I jumped the harness in freezer. The ice maker seems to cycle but is not turning valve on. What else could be the problem?

1 Answer

Michael, You will want to verify that the icemaker is cycling and also verify that there is 120 vac coming from the icemaker to the valve. Using a multimeter, test from N to V on the icemaker motor for 120 vac If there is 120 vac then test at the water valve for 120 vac. If there is 120 vac at this point the valve is faulty. If the icemaker is not getting 120 vac between the N and V at about the 11:30 position of the fingers then there is an issue with the icemaker. If the icemaker is not cycling then you will want to test the fuse that is on the harness for continuity. If no continuity then the fuse is bad.
