Hello C. Check and see if the ice bucket WPW10312300 is broken in the unit. If so, and the auger does not turn, but the motor does, you will need to replace the bucket assembly.

Hello Joe, If you have verified that you correctly hooked the wires back up to the water valve, you should force the ice maker to cycle and see if it fills. Also, check the fill tube for clear ice that could be blocking the water inlet.

Hello, I have this model ice maker in my Maytag refrigerator. It recently stated to make noise when going through it's cycles but still was working. Then one night the water valve must have stayed open and I had a flood coming from the ice maker. I had to turn the water off at it's source. I suspect that the maker itself got stuck supplying voltage to the water valve constantly. I think I need a new ice maker itself but also want to be sure that the water valve is ok. What can I do to test the water valve itself? I hesitate to turn back on the water though.

Test No. 1: Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. Result: MY freezer temperature is correct. Test No. 2: You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. Q1: I am ready to do the multi-meter test. How can I tell when the icemaker is cycling? Q2. Is the power AC or DC? How many volts? If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Test No. 3: Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. Result: I checked the fill tube. It is ok.

Hello Jane. You are looking for AC voltage and you must force cycle the icemaker to test for the voltage. Use a jumper wire and jump T and H on the unit to start the harvest process.

John, To install a fill cup on your D7824706q icemaker you will need to take the cover off and remove the motor module by removing the 3 screws. Then you will take 2 screws from the black housing under the module. Once this is out you will need to take the rake fingers out and then take out the fill cup.
