This ice maker assembly produces and dispenses ice cubes in your refrigerator's freezer compartment. It automatically fills with water, freezes it into cubes, and releases them into the ice bin. Replace this part when your refrigerator stops making ice, produces misshapen cubes, or makes unusual noises during the ice-making cycle.

For Whirlpool Ice Maker (Part Number: OEM12405033)

Hello Hank, You need to make sure the noise you are hearing is the ice maker and not the water valve. If it is the ice maker making the noise while it is turning, the issue will be the ice maker. If the noise is coming from the water valve, you need to see if the fill chute where the water comes in is frozen. If it is, the water valve is the issue. If it isn't frozen, the ice maker is still going to be the issue. Again, I always list the part number but I cannot when there is no model number listed. You can repost with the model number or you can call in and one of our operators will be happy to assist you in getting the correct part number to correct your issue.

Mj for Model Number ET1MTKXKQ00

Several years ago I was frustrated with repeatedly having to replace the icemaker in my refrigerator between solenoids, coatings on the tray coming off, etc., etc. etc. The 3rd time it failed, I pulled it out and threw it in the trash to increase freezer space as it wouldn't work anyway. I'm thinking of purchasing and installing another ice maker at this time and want to verify the correct unit for the refrigerator model I provided above. Does everything come complete with the unit so it can be installed and operational or are there other items that need to be purchased independently? I noticed on one of the other Q&A's that one component was indicated as no longer provided with the units. Also, the solenoid to the former ice maker is still on the refrigerator. Will it need to be replaced as well (or does it come with a new unit purchase as part of the assembly anyways)?

MJ, you would need the icemaker, bucket, any tubing, etc. You can purchase the kit, part number W11700559 which contains all these parts. I would suggest purchasing the kit and using/replacing all parts. Thanks!

Jf for Model Number 10657762791

The ice in my ice maker is stuck halfway and is not dispensing into the tub. My tub has an auger attached to it that then dispenses through the door of the freezer. Next to the ice dispenser is a water dispenser which is also built into the door. I suspect, based upon my research, that the best bet for fixing my problem is to replace the entire ice maker. However, your description of the ice maker for my model says, "This model does not fit refrigerators that have the ice auger assembly mounted on the door and the electronic sensor to sense ice level." Item Number: AP2984633 As stated above, my auger is mounted on the ice tub which is next to the door. Also, my ice maker has an arm assembly to sense the level of ice in the tub. Will this ice maker fit in my refrigerator? Hello J.F., The complete ice maker will correct the issue more cheaply than replacing the individual parts that will probably be required. The mold heater is most likely bad and the thermostat is part of the issue. The control module has probably sustained damage from the unit being run out of time. It would be cheaper to replace the ice maker assembly 4317943.

Jack H for Model Number MZD2766GEB

My Maytag model MZD2766GEB isn't making ice. I replaced the water valve, the water filter and the ice maker and still no ice. The water dispenser in the door is working fine. The water line is not frozen or blocked and it's not leaking anywhere. A service agent told me to swap the lines on the water valve and press the water dispenser and if the tray fills with water, replace the ice maker. I did that and it filled with water so I replaced the ice maker again. Still no ice. What else could it be? I've been working on this for weeks. Someone plz help!

Hello Jack Based on the information you provided, with all the other parts new, you have a wiring issue and will need to locate the bad wire or connector on the unit and repair it.
