For Whirlpool Replacement Icemaker (Part Number: OEM12405033)

Craig for Model Number Kitchenaid KSRS27FGBT02

Before leaving for vacation I lifted the shut off arm for the ice maker. When returning I set it in the down position to start making ice but nothing happened. I used a hair dryer to loosen the ice cubes that were in the tray and was successful, but still no water came down the fill tube. I then took the hair dryer again to the ice maker and the ejector ran continuously. I poured water in the tray and the ejector eventually stopped turning but the cubes did not come out after they were frozen. I used the hair dryer to get them out. My last thought was to take everything out of the freezer and defrost it, but still no water came down the fill tube after turning it on. I always got water when I press on the water dispenser. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello Craig. With the heater not working on the icemaker you will need to replace the icemaker. You will need to test and see if the icemaker is sending power to the water valve when it cycles. If not, you will need to replace the icemaker 4317943. If there is power there and no water, you will need to replace the water valve W10408179 as well. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello Todd. The icemaker D7824706Q is not hard to install. You will need to remove the screws securing the icemaker and drop the icemaker down. Then, unplug the wires going to the icemaker. You will need to remove the old parts from the old icemaker and install them onto the new icemaker. Reinstall with the new icemaker in reverse order. Hope this helps.

Convitguard, D7824706Q is the part to reder. You will need to transfer the wire harness and cover from the old icemaker to the new icemaker, but that is not a difficult transfer. Good Luck and Thanks

Hi Ben. Since the weekend you normally should have Ice by now. There is a thermostat that has to "reach" freezer temperatures in order to allow ice production. You can remove the front white cover and jump between " T " and " H " with an isolated wire to advance the motor to rotate and automaticallly call for the water valve to send water to the ice maker once the arm is down and you remove the jumper within 1-minute. Thank you.

Julie for Model Number Amana Model# ABB2227DES, Ice maker# IC11B

Our ice maker first starting dripping extra water from the front of the unit into the tray. A couple days ago the ice stop dropping from the unit. We took it out, defrosted it, reinstalled it. It filled with water. None ran out this time, but it will not eject the ice. Lightening struck close by the same day the ice maker stopped working. Could that have anything to do with it. Nothing else in the house was effected. What part # do we need?

Steve, Does the water dispenser have the same issue ? if so you want to check or replace the limit switchWP61005520 and check the rubber push pad and wedge for an issue 61003410 . If thats not the case, you'll be needing the dispenser control board WP61003425. Thanks and Good Luck

Joel H for Model Number KSRS25QDWH03

Our ice maker was getting noisy - it sounded like it does when the ice bin is full, and the ice maker is waiting to dump cubes. We emptied the ice bin, and this didn't help. I then removed the ice maker (including disconnecting the electrical harness) and thawed out the ice maker. We then reinstalled the unit. It made ice, but was still noisy. We removed and thawed the unit again, and this time the cubes had an extra layer of ice connecting all the cubes, and water continued to run. I disconnected the ice maker and removed it, which solved the water problems. I described the situation to a customer service rep, and he indicated that replacing the unit should work, but that I should confirm this in this forum. The unit recommended was AP2984633. Will this work?
