Hi Irv. If I understand you correctly, Your ice bin has a "hole" in it where water collects. Do you mean that the ice maker may be over flowing and the bin collecting water?. Is the chute flapper not closing and allowing outside air to migrate in the bin collecting moisture then frezzing? Bill, The first place to start, and the most likely situation is a malfunctioning fill valve 242252702. The diaphram under the yellow solenoid is coated or damaged and partially opens when the green solenoid valve opens to fill the icemaker. Good Luck and Thanks.

I need to replace the ice maker in my Amana refrigerator. I found part # AP4135008 which looks exactly like what I have but the one on the web looks like the water comes in from the side of the ice maker while my water comes in from the back. In my current ice maker, it looks like the ice maker had a knockout on the side and back so you would pop off which ever you needed. Does the replacement work the same way? Hello Kevin! Remove the cover of the icemaker. There is an adjustment screw on the right side of the control module. Turn the screw counter-clockwise to adjust the water level. Hope this helps!

When filling the Ice maker water squirts every where and creates a icy mess. What ever water gets into the unit takes 8 to 12 hrs. before the ice drops out to the tray. Sometimes if water stays in the water fill tube it just freezes. Should I replace the whole unit and if so, whats the model # for the unit and everything I need to order?

Patty, It doesn't sound like an icemaker problem, not yet anyway, sounds more like a fill valve problem 4318046 or low water supply/pressure. You may want to flush the water supply line to the fridge when you replace the water valve. Thanks and Good Luck.

The ice maker started over filling slightly from the front end a few weeks ago, then it stopped making ice, when I looked at it I saw that the rear most ice cube was jamed again, this has happened at least twice before, so I removed the unit and thawed it out, after I reinstalled the unit this time it did not work, is it just the icemaker or do I also need a valve.

Rich, You want to start with the water inlet valve WP67005154 , based on your post description. You also want to make sure both, the refrigerator is level or slightly(1/4 to 3/8 inch. higher in the front), the icemaker itself, should also be level in both directions. Good Luck and Thanks.
