Jonh S. June 30, 2011 for Model Number wed5300vwo Top part of sensor holder, plastic, has a noticeable sharp protrusion. Some towels and loose knit items are having the thread pulled. Could this be the reason?
1 Answer Hello Jonh. Yes, if the sensor bar assembly 279366 has a sharp point, it can catch the threads on clothing and towels. You will need to replace the assembly. Also check and make sure there are no othere thing inside the drum that can cause this as well. Hope this helps. Read More...
Guest May 30, 2011 for Model Number LG7681XSW3 On automatic dry my gas dryer keeps going hot even when all clothes are dry. The only way was to stop it manually. On the other hand, the timer cycle works OK. I believe the moisture sensor was bad. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong? Thanks
1 Answer Hello. In general, if the timer works in timed dry,but not on auto dry, usually indicates a clogged or restricted vent. You may want to try cleaning out any lint in your vent ducting and see if this relieves your issue. I hope this info helps. Read More...
Skye May 28, 2011 for Model Number KGYS580JQ1 My dryer turns on, but takes 3 cycles to dry clothes. My vents are clear. I was wondering if a sensor may not be working right. Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Dave. If your unit does not heat at all, there is a high limit thermostat W11050897, a cycling thermostat WP3387134, a thermal fuse WP3392519, and an element that could all cause issues like this. I would suggest testing all these parts first. These can all be using a multi meter [AP344064]. I will include a link in this message to an article that has info on how to test various parts with a meter. I hope this info helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

1 Answer Hello Erik. From what your describing, it sounds like the coils 279834 are bad and will need to be replaced. Check and see if the flame ignites, then goes off and does not come back on. If so, the coils will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
