Ken January 22, 2015 for Model Number WGD6600VW0 My Cabrio dryer indicator light stays on "sensing" and never moves to "wet or damp", shuts down while the clothes are damp and I need to restart. Can I solve this problem by replacing the sensor?
1 Answer Ken, Take a rag and some rubbing alcohol, clean off the metal strips of the sensor. This would remove any debris or chemical build up off the sensor bars and allow the bars to sense the dryness of the clothes properly. Read More...
Suzie January 15, 2015 for Model Number WED6400SW1 The dryer Sensing light is on, and the dryer wont start. Do I just need to replace the sensor, or could it be a different problem.
1 Answer Hello Suzie. You will need to test the door switch W10702726, thermal fuse WP3392519, and check the belt WP8547168 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Peter February 16, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool Cabrio Gas Dryer WGD6200SW2 Our Whirlpool Cabrio dryer stopped drying, no "F" variable service codes. Control panel are on but stays at 40 minutes w/ sensing illuminated. Have tried to unplugging, get a "PF" press start and it recycles to 40 min sensing. Does interior Pad Sensor # 8576468 need replacement or is there something else? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Peter

Ed March 09, 2013 for Model Number med6600tqo Hello I have a maytag bravo electric dryer med6600tqo that will not start, it lights up I have 240v, I ran a diagnostic and it gives me fault 25 the thermistor is not open, maybe shorted? I checked the high limit thermostat it is good, but the moisture sensor located in the drum is open? would that stop it from starting? also when you hit the start button should it click? I did not check the door switch? I don't think it clicked before? thanks
1 Answer Ed, You will want to do a resistance check on the exhaust thermistor. The resistance should be at 80 degrees 8.5 to 10.5K ohms at 70 degrees 11.5 to 13.5 k ohms. If outside this range then you would need to replace the thermistor. Read More...
