Mike December 08, 2021 for Model Number WTW5500SQ0 Trying to replace the agitator dogs -- bits and pieces of the agitator dogs fall out when I turn the agitator upside down, so I know the dogs need to be replaced.. I have done this before on another washer without any difficulty. As expected, the agitator assembly came out as one piece. I placed my feet on the lower agitator and pulled upward on the upper agitator as instructed, but could not separate the two. I applied significant force, but could not separate the two. The retainer will not pop off of the lower agitator, so I cannot get to the dogs. How do I get them apart without damaging anything? Please advise soonest. Thank you in advance!
1 Answer Mike, The agitator dogs are on the top of the agitator and not between the upper and lower half. You do not have to separate the agitator to replace the dogs. You just remove the pieces at the top. Read More...
Billy March 29, 2021 for Model Number LSB6200PQ2 Does this model need the short, med or long agitator repair kit. Thanks.
1 Answer Billy, the correct parts for the model number you supplied are 285809/3951682 Short Cam Agitator Repair Kit and you may want to replace the WP3951608/3951608 ThrustSpacer Washer at the top of the bottom agitator. A dab of waterproof grease, on the "dogs" and thrust washer, would also be helpful to you. Thanks, Read More...
Carol March 24, 2021 for Model Number WTW5700SW0 What could be wrong with it after replacing agitator kit and the bottom turns one way and the top agitator turns another way? TIA!
1 Answer Carol, when rotating the top of the agitator counter-clockwise, it should turn with the bottom part of the agitator. If it spins freely, it is possible that the agitator dogs may be installed in reverse. It would be recommended that the agitator dogs are double-checked to ensure that they are placed in the proper direction. The video shown for the agitator repair kit 285809 in the item page can be used as a reference to verify the placement. Read More...

Rick March 22, 2018 for Model Number AP3094543 I watched your video and ordered the part needed to correct a failing top agitator. I removed the fabric dispenser and dust (!) cap. I removed the center bolt with a bit of elbow grease! My issue is I cannot get the old short cam agitator OUT! I have used long slip joints with heavy twisting pressure and it wont even budge. I am afraid I will break something if I try to pull harder or force it out. Am I missing something? In the video, the old assembly falls out easily. This is far from that! I think it was put in with super glue! (this washing machine has been great and except for a bad lid switch it has never needed or been serviced) Please advise before my wife gets home....
1 Answer Rick, For this issue it would most likely be detergent build up that may be holding the piece in place. May sure that you separate the upper and lower agitator and see if it will come loose. If necessary you will use a long pole and try to knock it out from the bottom. Read More...
