The Spinner Kit is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. The spinners are responsible for spraying water to effectively clean and rinse dishes. Over time, spinners may wear out or break, impacting performance. If your dishwasher isn't cleaning properly, inspect the spinners first

Causes of a bad Spinner Kit can include mineral buildup from hard water, which may block the water jets, or physical damage to the spinner arms that can occur from loading large or improperly placed dishes.

Symptoms of a failing Spinner Kit include:

  • Dishes remaining dirty or spotted after a wash cycle
  • Water not spraying adequately throughout the dishwasher
  • Unusual noise during the wash cycle as the damaged spinner struggles to rotate
  • Decreased water pressure affecting overall appliance performance

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Phrederica, The issue may not be the 3rd level wash arm but may be an issue with the manifold that may be the hole for the pin has widened not allowing the pin to stay in place.

Cathy, There should be a peg that goes through the top of the manifold that would clip into the wash arm to hold it in place. This should come with the wash arm and you will want to make sure that you install this pin. If it is not being installed and just using the original pin then this may be why it is popping off.

Patrick, This issue would most likely be a door latch switches being stuck in the closed position allowing the unit to think the door is closed when it is not. The parts that would be needed would be the latch which is part number WPW10404412. If water was flowing in with the unit in the off position then it would be the water valve.

Jane, In the center of the spray arm there is like a plug that goes into it to hold it up to the manifold. In order to get this plug you will need to replace the wash arm which is part number 8193983.

Dan for Model Number whirlpool dishwasher 8193983

We had a whole lot of lime scale build up in the machine and eventually the holes in the upper and lower arms got clogged. We used some cleaner which helped some and we also took apart as much as we could and cleaned out the mineral flakes manually. This helped at first but now I think a screen is clogged somewhere because the machine's performance is pretty bad and I attribute that to low pressure. How do I find the screens that may be clogged?

Hello Dan. You have to take the sump assembly apart to locate the filters and clean them.

Mary Ann, You'll need to remove the rack from the tub track assembly(s), turn it upside down and remove the screw in the water supply tube. Slowly separate the water tube from the mounting assembly attached to the bottom of the rack. Remove the spray arm WPW10082841 and bearing WP8268433 from the assembly and check for excessive wear and damage. If the arm center opening or the seal/bearing are worn out, it will not allow the spray arm to rotate properly.

Hello Randy, You should remove the upper rack and unclip the water feed tube from the back of the dishwasher and the clip near the top. You can then remove the feed tube. The spinner comes out with this assembly. The small plastic tab just snaps into the spinner through the top of the feed tube. It should pop out without much pressure. This can be done carefully with a small screwdriver.
