Mark November 05, 2014 I have a Maytag dishwasher and I replaced the door spring a few months ago (part #AP4111912) and now the plastic clip that the spring attaches to broke. I don't know the part # for the clip, but when I look at the schematic on your web site the spring is Part #6 in the picture and the plastic clip is Part #11. Can you tell me the part # for this clip? What is the cost?
Alan August 07, 2013 for Model Number jdb4950-7900 The door just drops when you open it. I thought it was the spring but when I pulled it our from under counter the spring was there in tact. Is there a second spring on the left side of door as well? I found a part of the plastic connector but don't know if it was from a previous repair. I don't see a second spring. thanks
1 Answer Alan, There should be a spring and link on either side of the units door. The part number for the spring is WP912652 and the link is part number WP912653. Read More...

Dan March 30, 2012 for Model Number DWU9200AAX The door has a custom wood front and has now begun to drop rapidly when opening. The springs are intact and connected. Should the standard spring (if both are replaced) keep the door from falling open rapidly or is there an alternate stronger spring available for this Model?
1 Answer Dan, according to your appliance model number you will need to use the regular door springs WP912652 and also use the spring kit part number 12001228 for wood panel door installations. Thanks! Read More...
Graham February 17, 2012 for Model Number JDB6510 The door drop cable on the left side of the unit has broken. I found a spring on the floor which looks as if it connects to the eyelet on the cable, but I cannot see where it connects to the outer tub. Any ideas and should I be looking for another part?
1 Answer Hello Graham. As long as the springs WP912652 aren't broken, all you should need is a door drop cable WP99002172. The illustration is at this link: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5541757&diagram_id=29086644#d29086644 Notice item number 18. This is the part the cable wraps around before hooking in one of the adjustment slots in the side of the lower frame. I sure hope this helps you out! Read More...
Paul October 06, 2011 for Model Number JDB8910AWB What other hinge parts should I order along with WHIRLPOOL Spring, Door (Part Number: AP4111912)? The door used to stay half way open but now falls all the way open. I would feel better replacing the parts that control the whole door opening as I will have the dishwasher apart.
1 Answer Hello Paul. You will need to order the cable WP99002172, springs WP912652, wheel WP99002183, bolt 99002189, nut 99002192, and the links WP912653. The hinges should be fine on the unit. Hope thishelps. Read More...
John S. May 10, 2011 for Model Number DWU 7802 AAM Is a door spring difficult to replace? Ours made a loud "twang" sound last night and the door now has no tension. I'm looking at the door diagram. Where does the spring attach? I'm relatively handy with tools and trying to avoid a $60.00 to $100.00 service call. Thanks.
2 Answers Hello John. You will need to pull the dishwasher out about half way. Then the spring attaches to the door spring link WP912653 and the side of the tub frame. Hope this helps. Read More...
