Maytag Dishwasher Spring Parts

Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off. Detergent lid spring and pin appeared to be OK but decided to replace since I was aready working on it. I ordered all the inner panel mechanism from the control arm to the latch actuator on the inner panel. The repair was successful as the detergent dispenser now opens during its cycle. Read more

Purchased door springs from Appliance Parts pros.com, installed them and door on our Dishwasher was back to normal, Had to pull out dishwasher from under cupboard to get to springs, as they were on the sides of the dishwasher. Read more

A shout out to A.P.P.: Quality parts always come quickly and are what I ordered. No, they are not always the cheapest nor do they have all parts for everything (who does?) but their website is the easiest to use and cost differences are usually slight. I have found A.P.P. trustworthy and reliable for the ten or so purchases I've made. This repair process requires that the DW be completely free from cabinet sidewalls. Without knowing exactly what broke I ordered 2 springs and 2 door spring links. I knew the door springs were weak and a parts man told me many years ago to always replace BOTH springs or the one you didn't replace will soon break. It is a simple procedure, just remember how the springs/links are attached. make a simple drawing or take a picture should you need it. I ordered a pair of springs from AppliancePartsPros.com. When the new springs arrived, I unscrewed the frame from the counter top, slid the dishwasher out part of the way and installed the new springs and saved myself at least one-hundred dollars. Read more

Removed screws from sides pieces into the cabinets, then pulled out washer several inches. Found one of the springs had stretched and the door cable had broken at the hook. Replaced both items and pushed washer back in. It was a little tricky to get washer back into the same position. Found that the water connection was rigid copper pipe and now was leaking at the fitting into the washer. Turned off water, removed kick plate, removed nut at flare joint and retightened.
