Laurie, You will need to open the dispenser and check the bracket to make sure that the switch is not moving when the lever is pushed. If it is then replace the bracket. If it is not then check the lever to make sure that it is not broken.

Marty, no we wouldn't expect a broken lever retainer to affect the water flow from the dispenser. You would want to check to see if the lever or bracket has shifted and "pinched" the water tube, check and make sure the water tube isn't partially blocked with ice because the ice chute flapper isn't sealing properly. Otherwise, suspect the water filter needs to be changed? Thanks,

Rick, With the auger motor being new you will want to check the bracket on the dispenser. If you take a flat blade screwdriver under the bottom lip of the frame and pop the frame off and lift to remove. Once out check where the switches are on the bracket, there are pins on the bracket that hold the switches that have a tendancy to break and cause this issue. If they are broken then replace the bracket WP2180226.
