Lou October 06, 2019 for Model Number WFE540H0AS Hey there. The front left dual burner on our stove-top is "stuck" on high. I've watched a lot of videos and pretty sure that I need an infinite switch and it looks relatively easy to replace. However, I'm having difficulty determining which switch is the correct one for the dual large burner on the front left of our stove-top. Thank you.
1 Answer Lou, you will need part number WPW10434452 for the front left element. It will also work for the front right element. Read More...
Jim January 14, 2019 for Model Number MER8674AB0 Hi, for our MER8674AB0 stove, the right front large burner (~9.5" diameter) is heating uncontrollably, so we are looking to replace the switch. I see the surface switch WP3149404 for the small element and it lists the part number WP3149400 for the large element. Unfortunately, the WP3149400 description does not show as compatible with our MER8674AB0 stove? Alternately, there are two other infinite switches WPW10411934 and WPW10434452. Is there some way to confirm which is the correct switch for us? Thank you
1 Answer Jim, for the right front element, the correct infinite switch that you would need is WPW10411934. Read More...

Carlos M August 07, 2017 for Model Number WFE320M0ES0 I have a Whirlpool Electric Range that the "Cooktop ON" idicator light stays on. It happened ever since a storm we had the other day we lost power then when it came back that light stays on. I have already tried powering down and waiting then power up again. What part do you recommend I change? I was thinking to just change the indicator light but the same thing will still happen won't it? Maybe replace a switch? Also is the range safe to use for now?
1 Answer Carlos, This issue would be caused by a faulty infinite switch. You can disconnect the purple wire from each switch and test from the terminal to chassis of the unit to see if there is 120 vac at the terminal. If there is then this would be the issue. Read More...
Keith October 30, 2015 for Model Number RF362LXTS The two large front burners cycle on and off frequently and don't appear to stay on long enough to heat the pan. What's Wrong?
1 Answer Hello Keith. It is normal for the elements to cycle on and off. If it is to much, replace the switch on the unit. Read More...
Mike October 27, 2014 Stovetop works perfect, oven clicks but doesn't heat up any ideas ? Not sure of model number
1 Answer Mike, You most likely have a DSI spark ignition system, since you can hear the oven igniter click you may have a weak or inoperative solenoid on the gas valve. It may look like this WPW10293048. Also check the wiring for loose connections and the oven gas valve flipper is in the open position(down). Read More...
Rob Z August 02, 2014 for Model Number RF262LXSQ0 The right front burner of our Whirlpool range is no longer functioning. For a long time the burner would run on high, no matter what heat temperature setting we had it on. Now it no longer works. I suspect the switch is at fault here, but I am not sure if I need an "infinite switch" or "surface switch". And your site says the switch you need to purchase depends on whether it is for a large or small "unit". Does it mean large or small "element?". Sorry for the multiple questions. Thanks in advanced for your help.
1 Answer Rob, You will want to inspect the burner for the unit for being burnt out. If this checks ok then you would need the infinite switch part number WP3149400 Read More...
