For Whirlpool Range Infinite Switch Top Burner Control (Part Number: OEM18023013)

Carlos M for Model Number WFE320M0ES0

I have a Whirlpool Electric Range that the "Cooktop ON" idicator light stays on. It happened ever since a storm we had the other day we lost power then when it came back that light stays on. I have already tried powering down and waiting then power up again. What part do you recommend I change? I was thinking to just change the indicator light but the same thing will still happen won't it? Maybe replace a switch? Also is the range safe to use for now?

Carlos, This issue would be caused by a faulty infinite switch. You can disconnect the purple wire from each switch and test from the terminal to chassis of the unit to see if there is 120 vac at the terminal. If there is then this would be the issue.

Hello Keith. It is normal for the elements to cycle on and off. If it is to much, replace the switch on the unit.

Mike, You most likely have a DSI spark ignition system, since you can hear the oven igniter click you may have a weak or inoperative solenoid on the gas valve. It may look like this WPW10293048. Also check the wiring for loose connections and the oven gas valve flipper is in the open position(down).

Rob Z for Model Number RF262LXSQ0

The right front burner of our Whirlpool range is no longer functioning. For a long time the burner would run on high, no matter what heat temperature setting we had it on. Now it no longer works. I suspect the switch is at fault here, but I am not sure if I need an "infinite switch" or "surface switch". And your site says the switch you need to purchase depends on whether it is for a large or small "unit". Does it mean large or small "element?". Sorry for the multiple questions. Thanks in advanced for your help.

Rob, You will want to inspect the burner for the unit for being burnt out. If this checks ok then you would need the infinite switch part number WP3149400
