Kevin December 19, 2017 for Model Number GX900QPPS2 I have replaced the motor on this unit. Along with the drive gear. The unit will not stop when I push the start button. I have to turn it off when the grinding sound starts. This went on for about a week. Now I can't even do that . When I push the start button it just makes that horrible sound it was making at the bottom of the stroke of compactor. I have removed the Upper limit switch and the on/off/start switch. I am going to check the upper limit switch for continuity tomorrow at work, but can I test the on/off/start switch somehow? Seeing your other answers could it be the new motor is now burnt up as well?
1 Answer Kevin, To test the start switch you would just test it for continuity. If it checks ok then the limit switch would likely be the cause for this issue. Read More...

Mike February 27, 2012 for Model Number TC900QPDB0 My trash compactor will not stop when it reaches the top.I replaced the top limit directional switch and that did not fix my problem.I can make it stop when I hit the off switch in the front. What should I do?
1 Answer Hello Mike. Check and see if the switch assembly WP9871140 is bad and is sending power to the motor until the off button is selected. If so, you will need to replace the switch assembly. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Brogan October 18, 2011 for Model Number KUCC151LSS0 I am really stuck on how to fix my compactor. I have replaced the top limit directional switch as well as the momentary start switch. It still bangs at the end of the compacting cycle but can be shut off manually. Will this part help or is there another part you can recommend? Thank you.
1 Answer Brogan, If you're sure the top limit switch is properly adjusted, so the switch activates when the ram reaches the top, The next component to check or replace would be the motor centrifugal switch W10439651 If you have a stuck contact there it will also react the same way a directional switch does. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
