Tracy, You'll need to dismantle the dispenser assembly, and check for broken or binding parts, and bad switches. Here's some information that should help you out " SERVICING THE ICE AND WATER DISPENSER The new ice and water dispenser is a simplified design, using half the number of parts as the previous design. Since the new dispenser is ?foamed-in? the freezer door, it cannot be removed as an assembly, however it can be easily serviced. Following are the steps for disassembly: 1. Unplug the refrigerator power cord. 2. Remove the overflow grille from the housing. 3. Unsnap front cover at the bottom of the housing. ( You'll need a flatblade screwdriver and pry out or twist the blade to release the bottom of the panel, using the slots molded in the bottom edge of the dispenser trim, be careful don't scratch the door panel.) 4. Disconnect the front cover switch harness connector and set the cover aside.5. Disconnect the power wire harness connector (BL/BK and W wires) 6. Disconnect the flapper door heater wire harness connector (if one is present). 7. Release the dispenser microswitch retainers and slide the switches off of their locator pins. Carefully handle the switches so they do not come apart. 8. Disconnect the wires from the terminals of the lamp holder. 9. Remove the two 1/4? hex head screws from the control bracket and remove the control bracket. 10. Remove the 1/4? hex head screw to remove the water fitting (fill spout) from the water dispenser lever.11. Unsnap the ice guide and remove it from the ice dispenser lever. 12. Remove the air pot by sliding the rear of the air pot out of the slot molded to the dispenser housing and slip the linkage out of the flapper door mechanism assembly. 13. Unsnap the flapper door and remove it from the ice dispenser lever. While you remove the flapper door, carefully guide the flapper door heater wire and connector over the door mechanism assembly. 14. Remove the 1/4? hex head screw securing the dispenser levers pivot retainer to the dispenser housing and remove the retainer. 15. Remove the water dispenser lever.16. Remove the ice dispenser lever by maneuvering it around the door mechanism assembly. 17. Pull the pin from the door mechanism assembly and remove the spring and mechanism assembly. 18. Reassemble in reverse order. " You may also need this kit assembly 8201756 it'll have all the mechanical parts you may need. Thanks and Good Luck.

Hello Donald. You will need to check and see if the terminals have clips that attach the wires to the micro-switch WP2162361. If so, you will need to use an ice pick to release the clips and pull the wires off the switch. If not, the wires will pull off the switch. These can be tight. Hope this helps.

Hi Barry. Has it been more than 6-mos. since that you changed your water filter? This will clog, bypass through the head assembly and flow up into your water tubing. So, try changing the water filter part # is EDR5RXD1. If you have already changed this then I would consider changing the micro switch connected to the paddle assembly. The micro switch part # is WP2162361. Thank you.

Hello Joe. You will need to adjust the paddle where it will make contact with the switch. If it does not adjust, you will need to replace the micro-switch WP2162361. Hope this helps.

Hello Dave. We do not offer any diagrams of how to install this part. You will need to remove the front dispenser cover by unsnapping it off the freezer door. Then you will see the screws to remove the dispenser housing. Once the dispenser housing is removed, you will be able to access the microswitch. Hope this helps.

JJS, your wiring diagram / tech data sheet, is located behing the grille kick plate on the front of the refrigerator, it's usually rolled up like a news paper. Based on your description, sounds like youve got a loose connection on your water dispenser switch or wire harness is damaged ? The Blue/Black wire is power into the switches and cavity light. Purple wire is power out to the fill valve and Yellow/Black is power to the cavity light, Remeber this is 120 VAC, so be careful when you're testing. Thanks and good Luck

Hello JJS. If there is power at the switch, but it is not sending it to the valve, then it sounds like the switch is bad. Check and make sure there are no broken wires from the switch to the valve. Hope this helps.

Hello JB. Check at the valve, when the dispenser is pressed, and see if your getting voltage to the valve. If no voltage is present, the switch may be bad. Hope this helps.

Hello Stephen. You can check and see if the switch is sticking. If it is ok, you may have a bad water valve W10408179 not shutting off. Hope this helps.
