Peter W. June 03, 2012 for Model Number LSR7233B Washer cycles properly until it hit the drain cycle then just stops and will not advance. It will do this in both regular wash cycle and the permanent press cycle. I can occasionally get it to advance by pushing in and pulling out the control knob until I am about ready to take a baseball bat to it. Timer? Lid switch? CLutch?
1 Answer Hello Peter. The first thing to check is the lid switch 285671 and see if it is bad or broken. If not, then it sounds like the timer 285938 is bad on the unit and will need to be replaced. Make sure there are no loose wires on the unit causing this issue. Read More...
Rob May 21, 2012 for Model Number lsr7233bq2 Would the clutch in my washer stop it from draining? I mentioned earlier that if I push up on the dial when it is not spinning in the spin cycle it works then when I move my hand off of the dial it stops. It seems like whatever is behind the dial is faulty. Please help further. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Rob. Yes, the clutch could be the issue, but if you move the timer and it works, it sounds like the timer 285938 is the issue with the unit. Read More...
Rob May 21, 2012 for Model Number lsr7233bq2 My washing machine runs fine until the spin cycle then it does nothing. The timer continues so at the end of the wash I either have a full tub or it has drained but clothes are still dripping. I guess its the timer but I appreciate your knowledge and help. This is a great site. If I then go to spin the clothes it sometimes works or if I mess with the dial it works intermittantly.
1 Answer Hello Rob. Check the lid switch 285671 and make sure it is good. If so, it sounds like the clutch 285785 is the issue with the washer and is not turning the basket properly. Read More...
Mary April 24, 2012 for Model Number LSR5233AWO The washer will not run through a complete cycle. It might start, then stop, then maybe start again. It will not completely empty, except in the gentle cycle. In the gentle cycle, it will still stop, hesitate, but will complete the cycle. If I try to start the washer in the regular cycle, it might start, but will stop and not complete the cycle.
1 Answer Hello Mary. If the timer is stalling, then it sounds like you may need to replace the timer 285938 in the unit. If the timer continues, but the motor does not go, you may have an issue with the motor windings and the motor WP661600 may need to be replaced on the unit. Check and see if it is the timer stalling out, or if the motor is not working. If it is the motor, test and make sure there is power coming to it. If so, and it does not run, you will need to replace the motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Rajesh P December 09, 2011 for Model Number LSV6233AWO The washer runs when I start at the pause it stops and the knob just does not move. I have tried this with all different settings and the problem still persists, can you please tell me what could be the problem? I think its a timer. But, I want to make sure before I do anything. I also checked the belt as well as the hose
1 Answer Rajesh, In a case like your's you need to start by checking the lid switch assembly and the lid hinges and bearings. Make sure the bearings and screws are not worn out or missing/loose. Check and open and close the lid several times and make sure the contacts"click" when the lid opens and closes. Then consider the timer. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Ed August 18, 2011 for Model Number lst7233aq1 Set at low water level water does not stop till it over flows. Has to be move to agitation setting manually and it agitate only one minute or less then goes to drain and spin. Other setting like delicate/permanent press does not work.
1 Answer Hi Ed. Spin out all the remaining water. Then start on low fill / reg. cycle. Halfway into the filling, simply carefully reach and unplug the cord. If it does not stop filling then you will need water valve part # is 285805. Try this first before you replace the timer part # is 285938. Thank you. Read More...
Andrew June 23, 2011 for Model Number not sure So my washing machine runs fine through all the cycles, untill it gets to the final spin. After the last rinse the timer clicks like normal then the water just sits there. Is this the timer? eveything seems to be operating fine.
1 Answer Hello Andrew. You will need to check the lid switch and see if it is broken or bad. If so, it can cause the problems your having. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Harlan June 23, 2011 for Model Number LSR7233BWO I went back and checked it all over again I may not of told you that I have just replaced the clutch and the motor drive and rebuilt the agitator assy. When the machine stops in its cycle the timer will tick and whir then it will move a little then it will take off and run then it stops goes thru the same tick and whir then it goes again that is what has led me to belive its possibly the timer. The brakes checked out ok. Thank you Harlan
1 Answer Hello Harlen. The pause between the wash cycle and rinse cycle and spin cycle, is the drain down time. That is normal. You wil need to check and see if the basket drive is binding up inside the tube. You will need to remove it from the tub and look for score marks on the shaft. If so, you will need to replace the basket drive W10820043 and the tub support 280184. Hope this helps. Read More...
Harlan June 22, 2011 for Model Number LSR7233BWO How can I tell for sure that the timer is the problem? The machine runs, then stops, then runs again, all the way through its cycle and you have to run it back through the final spin to get the water all out of clothes like it should.
1 Answer Hello Harlan. Based on the information you provided, it does not sound like the timer. You could have a brake issue, or a bad clutch assembly 285785. Gary June 06, 2011 for Model Number LST7233AQO How can I diagnose if the problem is with the timer or the motor. Machine spins in delicate but not regular cycle.
1 Answer Hello Gary. Test across the blue wire and the white wire at the motor with the unit in high spin. You should have 120 volts AC. If there is power there, you will need to replace the motor WP661600. If there is no power there, you will need to replace the timer 285938. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
