Josh July 14, 2014 for Model Number Kitchenaide KWAS777EQ0 My washer is not draining during a normal cycle. The cycle stops when it gets to the draining phase of the cycle. If you turn the control knob forward manually and start it, it will drain and finish the cycle. What part do I need to fix this problem?

Mc S. June 09, 2013 for Model Number KAWS700GQ0 My Kitchen Aid Washer releases a very short burst of water at the end of the spin cycle. There is a short pause at the end of the spin and then the release of a small amount of water.
1 Answer MC, Your diagnosis is correct, the issue would be in the timer WP3950736 there is most likely, a weak or bent internal contact or damaged cam wheel activating the fill or spray circuit in the timer at the end of the cycle. Read More...
Rhouse January 17, 2013 for Model Number KAWS677EQ0 Kitchenaid washer will fill but will not agitate. It is silent except for ticking down of timer in cycle which it does as it normally will do in cycle. Timer knob will rotate around until it hits drain point and then it will drain and spin. Then on the rinse cycle it will fill to appropriate level and will stop again, not agitating. It will then rotate to the drain point and drain and spin again. I think it is the timer but I am not sure. I have worked on my appliances myself for many years so I want to know what kind of repair I am looking at. Thank you.
1 Answer Rhouse, you're on target, based on the information the timer WP3950736 is the place to start. The motor runs in the spin drain direction, that solves the motor and wiring issue. The timer reverses polarity and that controls the direction of the motor. You probably have a damaged contact inside the timer. Read More...
Marti December 16, 2012 for Model Number KAW700G Washer does not begin to fill when turned to any cycle start position. If I turn the knob it wil begin to fill and agitate at the same time. It is a guess if it fills all the way or not. It then will stop and not drain. I can turn the knob again and it will agitiate extremely fast ... and then not drain. In order to remove the water, we took the drain hose out of the wall and placed in a bucket ... it did begin to drain by gravity.
1 Answer Hello Marti, You would want to check the pressure hose to make sure that it is not clogged up. Also check your drain to make sure that it is not clogged and check drain pump for being clogged or having broken vanes. Read More...
Presley P. April 30, 2012 for Model Number KAWS677EZ0 Washer fills, and agitates, but will not empty or spin. It does not make any sound, just sits idle. Would it be part #3950736? Or should I look further?
1 Answer Hello Presley. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the lid switch 3949247V may be bad and may need to be replaced. It should read closed with the lid closed. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. 1 Answer Roger, If this is actually a Whirlpool D/D washer, your first check needs to be at the lid switch WP3949238 . The washer will fill and wash, but will not drain and spin if the switch has an issue. If the washer does drain but no spin, we'll need to get into the clutch assembly or brake pads. Good Luck.
