Thomas February 29, 2012 for Model Number LSN1000PQ My whirlpool washer trips the GFI, and sometimes the timer kind of 'hangs' and makes a quiet buzzing sound. I can run the washer by using a non-GFI outlet (not a good idea, I know.) Is the inside of the timer possibly wet or dirty and can it be cleaned? Or just replace timer?
1 Answer Hello Thomas. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the timer WP8557301 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. If everytime the GFI Trips, the timer is locked up, replace the timer. Hope this helps. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Fred. You will need to unplug the machine and remove the two screws in the back corners of the control panel. Then pull the panel forward and flip it backwards. Next, with the timer knob pressed in, you will pull out the clip on the back of the timer and pull the knob off the timer and remove the skirt. Now release the timer and unplug the wires going to the timer. Reinstall in reverse order with the new timer WP8557301. Hope this helps. Read More...

Carlos October 21, 2011 for Model Number lsq9200pq4 when the washer gets to rince cycle stops and dont do nothing i have to move the timer
1 Answer Carlos, Check and make sure you have cold water, supplied to the fill valve on the back of the washer. Disconnect the hose and check for sediment in the fill hose screens and the valve screen in the fill valve. No cold water will make the machine stop at the start of the rinse cycle, It's automatically a cold water fill in the rinse cycle. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...

1 Answer Hello Barbra. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the lid switch WP8318084 may be the problem. Test the lid switch and see if it is working properly. If not, it can cause the problems your having. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
