Kimmy March 04, 2012 for Model Number LSR8433KQ This washer is about 11 years old and the timer has made this rattling noise for about 8 years now. My machine will not go into the rinse and drain cycle and my service tech says it's probably the lid switch (per phone call). While that is a feasible repair my concern is that the timer will go out shortly after. My service tech says that since the timer has been doing the rattling noise for that long it is probably fine. I'm trying to decide whether to buy a new machine or not?
1 Answer Hello Kimmy. If you can advance the timer and the unit will spin and rinse properly, then the timer WP3948852 will need to be replaced. If the unit is dead in the spin cycle, wont drain or spin, then the lid switch may be the only thing needing replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Michael February 23, 2012 for Model Number taws800jq1 My wash when you set the timer and pull it on,the aggitator begins aggitating immediately but the water doesn't come on at all. I changed the water inlet valve already, could this be a bad timer, temperature switch or water level switch and how do I check? The timer goes thru all the cycles and we've been washing clothes by taking the cold hose off the back of the washer and filling the washer for the wash cycle and rinse cycles.
1 Answer Hi Michael. The timer part # WP3948852 120 vac to the water valve as you need it. The unit running and completing a cycle tells me that the lid switch is OK. You need to use a volt/ ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to see if you are getting full voltage from the timer , wires and connections to the water valve. Thank You. Read More...
Todd B June 23, 2011 for Model Number sawx650jqo I have a washer that stops at the drain cycle. It will start and run the fill and agitate mode but stops at the drain/rinse function. The tub is full of water. The timer does not seem to advance and there is no sound coming from the machine. (I would think that if the motor or pump had stalled it might make a electrical buzz or noise). Could this be a timer issue? Is there a way to troubleshoot the timer considering the replacement cost?
1 Answer Hello Todd. You will need to check the lid switch 3949247V and see if it is broke or bad. If so, it can cause the problems your having. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
