Katherine M. September 21, 2011 for Model Number PAV2300AWW In reference to prior question.....lid is closed....water keeps running in and spin/rinse cycle does not engage....I have tried both normal wash and wrinkle-free wash....water keeps running and spin cycle does not engage
1 Answer Hi Katherine. Make sure the drain pipe is as tall/taller then the top of the washer and the drain hose is not vacuumed locked pulling water from the tub as soon as it is put in. Then if the unit keeps filling then unplug the unit while filling. If the water sops filling then it is not a water valve. Then if it keeps filling, then replace the water valve part # WP21001932. Unhook the pressure switch hose. Blow into the hose backs towards the tub. If you felt like there was an obstruction pushed into the tub, you have cleared the hose from lint or debris. this will not allow the pressure switch to close and start the cycle after proper fill. If not it is possible you have a bad pressure switch part # is WP21001554. Thank you. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Katherine. If the unit does not rinse or spin out, you will need to check the lid switch 12001187 and see if it is broken. If so, it will cause the unit not to rinse or spin. Hope this helps. Read More...

Jo April 04, 2011 for Model Number pav2300aww Maytag washer continues to fill to overflowing. Does not proceed to agitate. To empty I must move the timer to spin. It does not drain water. It will spin the water out and when I lift the lid, it will stop, but I can hear the brake screech to a halt abrutly. Is this the timer or something else? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Jo. It sounds like the pressure switch may be bad on the machine. Remove the pressure hose and make sure it is not clogged. Also if you can stop the water coming in with the timer, then the problem is in the pressure switch. You will need to provide your serial number if the switch is bad, so we can get the correct one for you. Hope this helps. Read More...
